Hey Johnny, sure thing. My schedule should calm down quite a bit after summer.
Ryan, the hair is purple sir!!! And yes, I went back to the red skin on this mini. I know how you dislike the red skin. I'm sorry my friend, I won't do that to you again...
Ryan scored a -2 on nine holes at the Willows! I think that's insanely awesome. Attaboy!

TY Amigo! More like insanely flukey. I dropped an about 25ft putt for eagle on hole 9 of bridges. I don't think I'll ever be under par again after yesterdays showing.

Re: Scott's Stuff
I Birdied a par 4 today man! It was deadly. Also we played for $2 a hole, longest drive wins and closest to the pin on par 3's. I played the WORST in the group but got a lucky bounce and won closest to the pin on a hole that we had carried the cash over to like 4 times. Got a few decent drives in and almost played for free today. It's super fun playing for a little bit of cash! Especially 'cause in our group sometimes just getting it on the fairway was good enough!

Re: Scott's Stuff
Over on the Ravening Hordes site their is a challenge that I think would go over well on the Hunters site. We are starting with the 20mm base size and challenging the members to paint a bigger base size every month. Kinda fun. So this was my 20mm entry. He doesn't really have any game play value as far as I know. I am calling him "the Mayor of Altdorf" and he's from one of the citizens of the empire packs. I dig the mini. Anyway, here he is.

Hey, I love this mini.. I've never seen it painted up before.
The paint job is great as well. His face in particular turned out really well.

ty Robyn.
This is for the 25mm part of the challenge over on the RH site. Let's see if I can improve on my showing over last months entry (0 votes. I cry into my pillow EVERY night now).

Very cool. Nice job, I can't pick out anything to criticize. I took a look at the comp at RH and I really hope it was because of the fig that you got zero votes. I mean, the flagellent with plastic showing under got a vote.

Very nice fig scott. It came out so clean and crisp. The face and the job you did on the metal parts came out so good epecially on the shoulder guards. The face was done so well it gives this fig so much personality. great job scott

Re: Scott's Stuff
I really like the coat, after reading what you put on cool mini I realize you didn't intend for the coat to come out like that but it really draws me in for some reason. I'm really impressed by the face because of the scale, it turned out really nice. I don't like the color choice for the hair because it is really close to the skin color (in the pictures at least) that said you did an amazing job and got really good... definition? distinction? between the hair and the face so it's not a major criticism.

Re: Scott's Stuff
Yeah Tom I was going for a white robe, and wound up fith a creamy colour. I think I know to just start much lighter next time. The hair is a good point. I was trying to match my daughters hair. I was WAY off! Here's a rogue psyker I painted for eBay. Not my best, more of an autopilot mini actually. I was trying out some new rust stuff I kinda liked and I used a Dragon Forge base. I forgot how much I like them! I plan on using a ton more of them for the future. Here's the dude...

Re: Scott's Stuff
I really like this. The face looks awesome. I couple of nit picks. I don't like that the basing material covers up the weapon. I can barely tell it's a giant mace, or could it be an axe? And I really wish you would have tried a yellow or orangish glow from the lantern. Why is he holding up a lantern that isn't giving off any light.
Is this one of your Reaper commissions?

Re: Scott's Stuff
This dude is froma company called Spyglass. Then it was called Eolith. Now it doesn't exist and I don't know who picked up the rights. The guy who scupted it is back working for GW though.
Fair point about the Lantern! I just can't do decent object source lighting at all. It's tough! And I didn't want to practice on a commission. Actually when the guy asked me for a quote I gave him a long list fo shit I couldn't do. Like, embarrasingly long... in the end I said "If you want a gritty looking mini painted in earth tones, I'm your dude". and that's about it.
And yep, the weapon is obscured in the pic's. Sigh... shulda just put a lump o' grass there.

Re: Scott's Stuff
Thats a great goblin.. I love his crooked pole with rusty speadhead.
With the close up pictures.. I was like.. yeah, this guy looks really good.. but when you put him next to the marine and see how tiny he is, the paint job looks even better.. I love those tiny tiny guys..

Thanks Robyn!
This dude is a "Grymn" commander from Hasslefree mini's. It's a space dwarf, and he has a whole range of them. I like HF mini's a ton. I would not do an army in these colours as they're pretty gay and elfy but I wanted to try out some stuff on this dude.

Re: Scott's Stuff
Paint job looks great Scott. My favorite part of the fig is how the pose, size of the base and the eyes work together to make the fig look like hes peering down in to a valley or pit. Your metal looks great I would like to see what you could do with a necron fig sometime.

Re: Scott's Stuff
Thanks Dana!
I painted this Ork Boss for eBay. I tried to paint him up in German WWII military colours. The head is from MaxMini and the base and shell casings are from Dragon Forge Design. I put a lot of time into this mini but I think I undid most of the effort by going back and re-thinking what I was doing. I toned down a lot of the highlights eventually and now I kinda think I shoulda left it. I am pretty proud of the metal on the klaw though. That was a lot of effort.
Thanks for looking!

Re: Scott's Stuff
This is from Red Box games. I wanted him to look like a low level Skyrim dude. Man that game has made me a crappy father!
I wanted to have the mini looking down on the base. THIS IS A MISTAKE! It makes it impossible to photograph the eyes. This is frustrating if you spent many, many, many re-do's trying to get the eyes not all googly looking. This is precious time you could spend playing Skyrim! Next time, lean the mini UPWARDS Radom! Anyway... here's a votey link if you like...

Thanks for looking! All crits loved, valued, and adored. Thanks again.

I did this 15mm halftrack between working on that Red Box guy. Painting 15mm is very different from 28mm I think!
