A big unit of 20 marines is kindof interesting... actually. So is a 5 man unit with a plasma gun (two plasma guns???) | We'll need to see the book, that page was too fuzzy.

It's the same as before Mark, if the unit numbers 10 or more models you can add a heavy weapon or a second assault weapon.

meet the new CSM!..... Same as the Old CSM. now with Dinobots!

To those saying " wait until it comes out" ...i've seen it and here are the changes that matter.

the only unit in the book with skyfire is havocs. They can pay 10 MORE points for access to flak missiles on top of the 15 points for the missile launchers. CSM squads with missiles cannot buy flak missiles. - Fail

Maulerfiends and Forgefiends are both HEAVY SUPPORT. (because that slot wasnt full already) Forgefiends are 175 points with iether two Hades or two Ecto. you can take an extra ecto (regardless if you have hades or ecto arms) for an extra 25. ... so ... yeah. -Fail

Hellbrutes Do not get access to hades auto-cannons. no option for a rifleman equivalent at all. Can fit him with nifty close combat stuff like Thunderhammers tho..... Reaper is supa cheap. probably the go-to choice if your going to field dreads going forward. - fail.

Defiler 195 base. can only get 1 extra arm by dropping base reaper. still AV12. fail.

Helldrake, 170 points. iether gun. no purchasable chances or upgrades. i'm going to get one, Daemon might make it worthwhile... maybe

nurgle oblits are 76 points per model. win.


you've seen the rest of the book. there are no surprises.

Except maybe FAbio Bile! Enhanced warriors - No drawback- limited to one unit of CSM. 370 points for 20 Slanesh Fearless, FNP, S5 I5 CSM running at yo face!...

I do like the new chaos lords. For 170 points he can have a 4+ invul, a juggernaut, and the axe of blind fury giving attacks at +2 str, ap2 and a darmon weapon. He goes down 1 bs and ws.. But goes at his init.

Umm.. Yeah i guess thats it for my highlights... hehe. I was happy to see berserkers could take the reroll and furious charge icon and at reduced cost for alrwady having furious charge.

So for 242 points i can take 8 berserkers.. They have furious charge, rage, counter attack, reroll charge distance, champ with pw (no point with fiat since you have to always challenge..?), melta bombs and a gift of mutation allowing a boon roll.

That compares to 238 from old book.. You lose an attack but do get better offensive potential with that reroll. Howevwr.. If your opponent has defensive grenades.. You get moreattacks with berserkers if they are charged instead if charging.. Awesome.

Im going to havento get extra spawn and prince models.. Because everytime a character kills a character in a challenge they get to roll.. And since every unit has to have a chamo.. You might be rolling often. A 21-22 is turn into spawn.. A 66-65 is turn into daemon prince.

Nurgle or tzeentch oblits look awesome.. And i do like the heldrake. I wish the forgefiend was a bit cheaper. In going to try out tje defiler.. But even with the new rules and bonuses.. 195 for an av 12 creature... hrrrrm.

Yeah.. Im with you on the helbrute Mike.

110 with a reaper autocannon is a good deal in my eyes. It would of been nice to have daemon with it as well.. The model certinly looks like it should.. Or an upgrade. *sigh* oh.. How i miss mutated hull

A lord with MoN, palanquin of nurgle, sigil of corruption, and a power fist would be cool.

You get a very bulky 5 wound, T6, 4 attack biker. All for 170 points.

To bad there is not much else for ap 2 weapons unless you have a mark of khorn.
The murder sword also looks kinda cool.

Well I see that plague marines will probably never be fielded for 23 points....dont get me wrong they are better than the old codex, but regular chaos space marines at toughness 5 (and ini 4, with heavy weapon options) for 16 points seems waaaayyy better Wink

At least 7 points for feel no pain, bolter, and poisoned cc weapons isnt that great of a bargan.


Also chaos bikes are 20pts per model so they 2/3s the price of a space marine bike. Way better deal than the jump infantry.

Mauler fiends are heavy support, but they are 125 points for a close combat drednaught that moves 12", is not slowed by terrain, and fleets. They are intriguing
For 10 points they reduce everyone's cc attacks in base contact by 2.
