Pretty gross list. I am interested to see how much of a difference the v2 armor is. Trading off ODD is pretty huge.

At least he still has Mimetism, so he's not quite so concern about fire. And he gets forward deployment. Which puts him in your face even faster.

Haha, well the should. What even three of them are 39 points. I'd think they'd have a decent chance at it. MA2 and Ikohl with their Viral CCW means they might connect, and if they do decent chance to put a wound on.

Have to re-read the rules for CC though. I know links bugger it up and how it all works.

Each extra man in combat gives you an extra D20 to roll but it's a single face-to-face with your active model and Achilles. It would stall come down to dice rolling. If I roll a one it isn't going to do me much good.

Yea CC is a pretty huge gamble. I think you'd be better off standing 15" away and blowing them away with your spitfire lol.

Just make sure you eyeball that distance correctly. I'd gladly trade you shooting one or two for a flamethrower hit!

Spitfire is +3 up to 24" so I'd be able to stay well away from fire.

Your second army would either be:

-Yu Jing (some TAG's, mediocre hackers)
-Nomads (some TAG's, great hackers)
-PanO (lots o' TAG's, mediocre hackers)
-Combined (few but crazy TAG's, crazy hackers full of jank)

Pretty much every army has the same remotes.

Combined have the most remotes of any faction actually.

Between drones, ikadron/unidron/overdron batroids, imetrons and all the robot chubbies, combined takes the cake for robot heaven.

True, I forgot to include the fact the Onyx force now has line troops (and pretty much everything else) as remotes. If you want to go "all bots" Onyx is probably the way to go, or vanilla Aleph with Dakinis and a Marut. The models are just a little dated.

Yea I was surprised you didn't mention Aleph. They have a fair number of REMs and the Marut is a pretty boss TAG.

The TAG I like the look/rules of the most is the Dragoes (go figure!) but we have a fair number of people who play pan-o already and the sectorial really doesn't have much good access to hackers/REMs.

(Reasons for the Dragoes - TAG, HRMC which I don't have in Tohaa, is Remote presence Tohaa have a quasi manned TAG, Has good ARM and BTS. Also doesn't do anything to crazy, stuff like the Avatar seems a bit bananas to me.)

All theory at this point. Promised myself I wouldn't start another faction till the Tohaa stuff is all painted. Lofty goals are hard to reach!

We all say that and then you're 4 factions deep and don't know what happened.

I've been really good about not doing that so far. It seriously helps that Darren doesn't have stuff on the shelf. I don't think I'd be able to resist impulse purchases.

(Darren should totally stock it though, might have a couple of new players!)

The biggest problem with both lists is they do not have 10-12 orders. No matter how you shake it taking less than that (and really to be in the realm of super good you want 13-14) is a gamble. In both lists an opponent has to kill either some fusiliers or some bolts (not super hard) and all of a sudden your Dragoe or Aquila/Swiss has only 1-2 orders to do anything. Let alone trying to get up the board to capture objectives. Don't forget that the Dragoe is really only an active turn TAG. Sure he can fire a DA round in ARO but the HMC is really super good on the active turn. Same thing for the Aquila. The Swiss is good, but against a cagey opponent don't expect to get to many super good shots. If you put him down as a TO marker they know where he is. If you don't and hidden deploy him there are enough points missing from the board to expect him.

They are kinda neat themed lists (trying to take a TAG and a tough HI). The problem is that ITS specifically punishes you on orders by making neither of those important for doing the mission.

I'd decide if I wanted a TAG or some HI. Once you do that you have enough points to fill in some gaps. Along with bringing that order count up to at least 10.

I have to agree with Tom, most of the best lists have 12 or more orders. In an order based game you will need them to accomplish anything.

You can usually squeeze on one big unit (like the Dragao) or maybe 2 (like the aquila and swiss guard) but you will need to fill out the rest with cheap line troops or tricky board control stuff to give those heavy lifters a chance to do damage and clear paths for your more squishy guys. Check out some of the other lists posted for some ideas on what tools you might take to get around this.

did some refresher on the forums and read up on some stuff that's preferred for neoterrans.  i might do something like this, but it'll mean making a few purchases and proxying in the mean time to play it.
