Zone Mortalis Army List Ideas

so i've talked to some people to see if they were planning to sign up, and the common issue they seem to be having is trying to make up a, as mark puts it, "tight list" for the restrictions and at a 1'000pt limit.  so that said, i thought i might toss out some list ideas to inspire people.

a Dark Angel Deathwing list:

5 Deathwing Knights - 235

a Space Marine "Deathwatch" style list:

Acanthrites are 50 points a head. 135 points would get you 3 Wraiths all with Whip Coils, though.

I wouldnt be too worried.. its still over a month off. I have no idea what my plans are more than a week out so Im usually a last minute sign up, Im sure a lot of guys are.

Even if only the five who signed up end up playing, still a success!

I started with 2 ideas

1) OMG!!! Tight Hallways == Kharn teh Betrayer

2) blasts and flamers are super effective

I think it will be a very fun event, I love the idea of brutal close quarters engagements.

i should probably mention that you needn't take a slaneeshi lord to make the noise marines scoring; all ZM games treat both elite and troop selections as scoring, thus the halved limit they place on troop choices.  you only need 1 troop choice, and the other 2 from the elite slots would be scoring as-is.  that's why several of the examples i made used 2 elite choices.  though half of them took an HQ that turns them into troops as well, but that was a fluke .

 it's been a while since i saw the ork codex, but i think your math is off.  isnt that really this:
Warboss, with 'Eavy Armor, Cybork Body 75
Warboss, with 'Eavy Armor, Cybork Body 75

7 mega nobz, with 6 kombi skorchas, count as troops 310

Oops I did make the mistake on the cost of Mega nobz and Warboss haha But I did mean the Mega armor, not eavy armor but even then I was 10 points off.

yay, room for more nobz.

Shame they cannot overwatch, I would love a combi-skorcha wall of death.

Actually, I think you can with Ghazkull, but he is expensive at 1000 points.

As for scoring thing, I was unaware of that, but I may keep the lord in anyways, I like his prospects in close quarters with outflank and the brand.

Please note, Bikes, JEtbikes, Jump Infantry, etc. will have issues. Any difficult terrain becomes dangerous.

I feel rather commited to my Dark Harvest list, but Typhus Zombie Apocalypse sounds fun. Come to think of it, given the confined spaces and the abundance of sight blockers, Infiltrate based lists would be sitting pretty.

'do' warbosses have access to mega armour? i didnt think they did. just the beginning 6+ save, and the 4+ from Eavy Armour. checked in army builder and didnt see the option for mega armour. that, and the fact it would cost an additional 35pts if its worth what you counted as just seems off.

edit: ripped a pdf of the codex, i see it now. expensive option, that.

Warboss in Army builder is split like they do for Captains and Termie Captains.

If you compare a Mega-armored Warboss and a Warboss w/ twinlinked shoota, Powerklaw and heavy armor, its actually about 5pts to go from eavy armor to Mega Armor.
