New League

Im pretty sure that we'll be running an escalation league for the next time around. We'll start at 750 and work up slowly every few weeks. Ill post more details, specifically on missions at lower point levels as we get closer to start, but does this sound ok to everyone?

smaller points means more games per evening. can work with that.

But, but, but how am I supposed to fit three WK into 750, the most I can do is two and a farseer!

Yeah works for me. Hopefully will have a new job soon with more cashola so might be a good time to get those flesh tearers playable by then. Either that or play more eldar and cleanout my tear cup to collect the tears of my foes...

Started painting my 750 already. Maybe actually play with a painted force for once.

I have to find the "small" game rules. I think i have them on here somewhere. All games from lasts kick off event will count as well.

I have the new Combat Patrol rules by adepticon.

400 pt
Using either Modifed CAD
0-1 hq
1-6 troops
0-1 E
0-1 FA
0-1 HS

Or by unique codex detachment

No unique units, imp knights, allies, lords of war, or forts.

Armor higher than 12 counts as 12.
More than 3 Hull counts as 3
Models with more than 2 wounds count as 2.
No warp charge 2 or 3 powers allowed.

I'd probably throw in max 2+/4++ for saves.

What we should do is any 2+ with a re-roll fails it's re-roll on a 1-3.

I think I paid league fees on Friday but maybe that was the tournament entry fee? Beau can you weigh in here?

Tourney fee included tourney, league fee and Mat fund

Those are pretty similar to the old rules.. except the old rules didnt allow any models with a 2+ save at all, no mosels with 3 wounds or higher, and no vehicles who had an armour total of front, side and rear of 34.

I think i tend to like those a little more.. only because some units that come with a 2+ save are still pretty awesome..even if its reduced by one. Same for wounds.

Its always been encouraged to run these games in what you would coslnsider to be a small "scouting" force.

I'm okay with pretty much any ruleset for small games, tho it would be nice if we had an "official" post on what to use. I'm going to use Tau for this one, and I'm finding it's a little tricky to make what would be a small scouting force. They seem kinda powerful at small level games, once I really dove into the book.

I have always find lists that win/lose big (Tau, Eldar, etc) are even more so at lower points.

The game really doesn't start to balance out till around 1,250? and then past 2,000 same thing happens. There is a reason why every Tournament system for the last long time has been in that 1750-1850 point level.

EDIT: I am still really excited to play small games and looking forward to whatever you guys think we should do. (just to be clear I'm not trying to be antagonistic).

Please note: the rules I posted are from last year's adepticon, and are meant for 400 pt game. I think they fit 500 well too.

At 750 I'd say Allied Detaachment, but CAD works as well.

Best place to start for sure. Nobody will be bringing the hard stuff (huge MCs, fliers etc) so its a good place to learn

You dont need an HQ for the small points Mark.. or are you saying you cant take harlequins withput an Hq? Im sure we can work it out.
