just tossing this out their right now but who here would be interested in a kill team tury. I'm not planning anything yet I just want to see what you guys think of the idea first.

My vote is no. Don't like kill teams. Too small to agonize over what to take.

Kill teams does have the advantages of being quick to set up and play, only takes a 4'x4' table generally, and are really easy to hit fully painted. This means you could be looking at 4-5 rounds while still having daylight out when the event is over. Also, if I recall correctly, there is no where to bring in an HQ under the current Kill Team rules, helping to purge a lot of the cheese that would often show up in a Death Star style unit, with independent actions further culling that concern from the event.

planes is right about force org in kill team the way ive played it in the past its just 750 pts of stuf, and is probably how ill set list rules as.

Kill teams max out at 200. Playing at 750 is playing with a whole army.

I think Dom is confusing the 4 player Team Tournament from a few years back with Kill Teams. The Team Tournament was a minor variant on regular 40k, where as Kill Teams plays much closer to something like Warmachine.

What im probably doing is mixing up the pts, cause when I add up the points of what I played its closer to 200

Ok, from off the top of my head, and it has been a while, here is what I recall of the Kill Team rules:

200 points total.
No HQ or Heavy Support allowed.
Troops, Fast Attack, and Elites are allowed.
No fliers.
No vehicles with combined AV greater than 33 (Rhino with 11, 11, 10 is good as it comes in at 32 total. A Wave Serpent with 12, 12, 12 isn't, since it comes in at 36.).
One model in your Kill Team is named the leader and gains a special rule.
Up to three other models in your Kill Team can be named as specialists, and can each grab a special rule from a list, but no rule may be taken more than once.
Even though everything still has to be purchased in legal squads (eg: no 3 man tactical squads), every model acts independently from the rest of the squad. As a direct result, unit coherency is not a thing, nor is Look Out Sir! or other such rules. Each model moves, shoots, and assaults as though they were a unit of one model. If a model suffers more unsaved wounds than it has, the extra wounds don't go over to the next guy, the first guy is just horribly overkilled.
There may or may not be a restriction on Monstrous Creatures, but I can't recall off hand.

I have a kill team tourney pack, ready to run.

I think it's 5-6 games over 6 hrs or so. Has all the rules etc.

i believe its no model with more than 3 wounds unless its a troop (aka tyranid warriors) so monsters are pretty much hooped.

Theres the setup. The AV wound stuff has been done away with.

This is setup for 8 games, 30 mins a pop, with 20 min in between to taally up and move , get setup, etc. I can see 6 being a lot easier. Back 4 tables would be a 16 person event.
