December event
How would people feel about doing a goodbye 2014 tournament in December? No fees, not prizes unless donated, just a group of us get together for a day and play some 40k. Something like a highlander type event, or even allowing unbound lists in case someone wants to do an all terminator or assault marine or scout or tank company list with one of the codexs that doesn't come with a character that usually allows it.
We can hash out what 3 missions we'd like to do for the event as well; including picking any fun ones out of any of the supplemental alter of war missions here if there's interest.
Basically a fun way to end the year

I think that would a be a fun event. I would totally try and show up to it. Help organize, not so much

Re: December event
hmm. that would mean either the 13th or 14th. that might be doable since there's gonna be little planning and organizing necessary. we just need to make a blank round robin sheet to fill out on the day to seed tables and make sure no one plays the same person twice.
how about point limits? im guessing 1850 or so because alot of stuff got expensive in the codexs, and it would be more fun if people didnt have to crunch a list like they would when there's prizes involved.
im thinking make some of the rules simple for easier play; many of us havent played in a few months or more. no secondary VP, such as slay the warlord, linebreaker, or firstblood. just simple objectives or kill points and that's it.

i've been so busy assembling the Cerastus-Knight Castigator the wife bought me that i havent had time for much else this last few days. and we're not sure if she's working the weekend or not yet.
either way though, we should get a show of hands of who wants to have the group get together and what day(s) work best for everyone.

Is gaming at the Woods still a thing? I'd dust off the ol' Tau if beer is involved.
