Is there a reason to avoid the crazy awesome detachments from the necron codex?

Other than that checks all the theses are good boxes (except the ctan which is meh depending on opponent and how many 4+ invuls you make)

The Ur-Formation, as great as it is, tends to pigeon hole you a bit, especially at lower point values like this. For 1750 points, regular detachments give you a lot more flexibility for how you do things.

True, but 1750 is enough. Working on a new list now.
