If Jacobim had not arrived with the remnants of his squad, the Xenos would have overrun the remainder of my men. We would all be dead....  
I should be thankful... It wasn't until later that I realized we should have just let it happen.

Who was I to question an Astartes? barely a platoon commander a week before, risen through necessity and the deaths of my superiors.  I was more than happy to have someone else giving orders.

as it is, most of us died anyway.

Now we venture further and further into the Eye.  One platoon of guardsman and the twisted remnants of what were once the Emperor's finest.
Lord Schrock is searching for something. A relic of some kind, perhaps to stave off the mutations that plague his... and now my... men and machines.

I should be thankful, but I'm unsure who to thank.. and for what.
