2000 Orpheus Test List
Having had some time to read through the text a bit, I have found that there is a lot of nifty stuff in there, along with some of what I would call jank (120" range skyfire, interceptor, double tap las cannon? really?). I am loving the fluff in it, though, especially with the fact that the Destroyer Lord is likely the sanest HQ they have, and they already have the whole "destroy all life" angle going for them. Here is my 2000 points of Necron Melee Madness.
HQ:
Destroyer Lord, Scarabs, Semp Weave, Res Orb. 190 points
Troops:
Flayed Ones x15, Flensing Scarabs. 205 points
Flayed Ones x15, Flensing Scarabs. 205 points
Flayed Ones x10, Flensing Scarabs. 140 points
Fast Attack:
Canoptek Tomb Sentinel, Seplucheral Scarabs, Gloom Prisim. 225 points
Canoptek Tomb Sentinel, Seplucheral Scarabs, Gloom Prisim. 225 points
Canoptek Wraiths x5, Whip Coils x3, Particle Caster x2. 215 points
Elites:
Triarch Stalker, TL Heavy Gauss Cannon. 165 points
Heavy Support:
Tesseract Ark. 250 points
Annihilation Barge, Underslung Tesla Cannon. 90 points
Annihilation Barge, Underslung Tesla Cannon. 90 points
The Dark Harvest seems to revolve around a dynasty with a bad case of the Flayer Virus, to the point where the buggers can be taken as troops. The Tomb Sentinel is the old Tomb Stalker model updated with a gun for a face. It looses 2 attacks, going down to 2 base, but also trades out it's little pea-shooters for an Exile Cannon, a beefed up small blast version of the Transdimentional Beamer that auto-pens on buildings and vehicles without a strength listed in their stat line. I think they must have taken some inspiration from the Wraith Knight, as they are also immune to flashlights at T7. The Tesseract Ark feels like a more focused Monolith, loosing the Gate and access to the Ordinance rule, but having it's main gun gain much more flexibility. Can be fired as a triple-tap Plasma Cannon, sans Gets Hot, a medium range Armorbane line, or an AP3 Fleshbane flamer. It also comes with a pair of Tesla Cannons, and a generally higher chance of exploding (+1 for open topped, if the main gun suffers a weapon destroyed the whole thing explodes on a 4+).
The other big thing of note in here is the Flensing Scarabs, a bit of wargear most Dark Harvest infantry have access to. They give the squad Shred on their first round of melee, making the Flayed Ones a touch more respectable.
