New Edition, New List - 2000
Having eyed up some of the changes coming in, along with my constantly accumulating play-data, I figured I would try fielding some units that haven't made the rounds in my lists since I started getting plastic.
HQ:
Overlord, Phase Shifter, Warscythe, Scarabs, Phaeron. 180 pts
Cryptek x2. 50 pts
-Destruction, Solar Pulse. 30 pts
-Despair, Veil of Darkness. 35 pts
Overlord, Phase Shifter, Warscythe, Scarabs. 160 pts
Cryptek x2. 50 pts
Destruction, Solar Pulse. 30 pts
Eternity, Chronometron. 15 pts
Troops:
Telsa Immortals x10. 170 pts
Necron Warriors x13. 169 pts
Elites:
Triarch Stalker. 150 pts
Deathmarks x5. 95 pts
Fast Attack:
Canoptek Scarabs x10. 150 pts
Canoptek Wraiths x6, Particle Caster x2, Whip Coils x3. 250 pts
Heavy Support:
Canoptek Spyder x2. 100 pts
Annihilation Barge. 90 pts
Doomsday Ark. 175 pts
Dedicated Transport:
Night Scythe. 100 pts
Plenty of anti-armor to go around, especially with a Night Scythe turbo boosting in to drop off 13 Warriors on the arse end of what ever I don't want shooting at me. The Ark also gives me a shot that's just as good at killing tanks as it is at slaughtering Termies. Str 9 AP 1? Yes please. And now that I finally have Scarabs and Wraiths modeled up, it is about time that they got out of the house and made some friends.

I'd drop the Particle Casters from the Wraiths, you generally want them running before they assault, and not shooting before they assault. 2 types of units is enough shenanigans for them too.
Keep in mind that Wraiths can board the Night Scythe... --- *hehehe*
You can't disembark from a vehicle that's turbo-boosting, not even in the new edition (You move 6" choose to disembark, in which case you move up to 6" from an exit point, then in the shooting phase you can go another 6", 12", 18"... or something even more redikerous which effects your shooting options that turn and cover save options. )

Meh, the list is WYSIWYG. The metal Wraith had a pistol to start with, and I modeled one to have both a "Gauss Pistol" and Whip Coils. I am not even sure what I would do with the spare 10 points. Had it freed up another 2 on top of it I could snag another Warrior. I like having some artillery options for a change, and I'm going to have to see what it does to Termies and Mega Nobs.

Being that you get a 2+ save vs many power weapons, a Sepiturnal Weave is now nearly a requirement.

The FAQ changes that statement quite a bit.

Ya, Nightscythes can drop stuff now.
Although Tom, you may want to consider this...
At 2000pts you can have 4 courts. Imagine that Deathmark Unit with 4 Abyssal Crypteks now. Imagine charging that unit.

While the power of four courts is awe inspiring, it does come with the draw back of having to run four Overlords or equivalent. I think I'd probably cap out at two courts and a Destroyer Lord.

Also you can no longer run and assault in 40k if im not mistaken. Fleet only gives you a re-roll to either your run or your assault roll not the ability to assault after running. (oh eldar you got nerfed so so bad.) :'(

Beasts did gain 6" on the basic move, though, to help make up for that.

Re: New Edition, New List - 2000
Scarabs have a potential 24" assault range. (More likely 19")
They can move 12", then assault 2D6" re-rolling one or both of the 2D6.
They will likely assault on turn 2, with the occasional attempt on turn 1. And they always hit vehicles on 3's now... beastly.

Beastly indeed, i see no forums about necrons getting any worse haha. Now we know why the necron book was fairly "balanced" when it came out and matt ward had written it, now we see it is probably the strongest book currently.

I'd agree with that assessment.

Still no "tiers of deep strike" sadly. If they were usable, I would field them with Imotekh. Deep strike in for surprise butt seks. What's that, your squishies are hiding in the back? New jackets for everyone!
