wait wait wait wait.

CSM codex comes out with fucked up changes mandating champions in units and forcing them into un-winnable challenges.... increasing costs and making us pay for a dude that nobody wants to field.

the very next imperial codex removes the mandatory Sarj and reduces the base cost of marine? =(

i saw this post below and the guy can't be more wrong in assessing whats fair and balanced within the 6th edition rules. Sad

Over on Faeit, someone who has the codex pointed out a Tactical Squad is 70 points base, compared to 75 for a Chaos Space Marine one. The way it is balanced though is that the Tactical Squad Sergeant has the same profile as the Tactical Marines themselves - i.e. Leadership 8, 1 attack. The Veteran Sergeant upgrade brings them up to 80 points. The 5 point difference between the squad and the Chaos Space Marine one is then used to give the Chaos Marines Veterans of the Long War. So essentially, for the same cost, both have sergeants and four other dudes, the Tacticals have ATSKNF, though the Chaos Marines have higher Leadership (9/10 as opposed to 8/9) and Hatred. I think that is fair! As long as both units have identical pricing for special/heavy weapons, that is the mark of balanced play IMO. Sure, the more pressing or competitive mind might identify an imbalance there in favour of the Tacticals, but it is still good by me.

Nah. i already have a complete "Fallen Angels" army. =)

An entire company of Fallen Angels in fact, several hundred strong, with land raiders, mutated flyers, bikes, tanks, everything.

might need to pick up a few more plasma_instergunnamehere_ bits but otherwise i'm all set.

Sounds like 70 points includes a searg tax and then 10 more for vet. So 70pts vet. +14 points per dude. It'll be 180ish for the DV squad... maybe 195-200, depending on the plasma pistol.

So we're looking 225 for a 10 man squad in a rhino, or 145 for a bare bones squad in a aback.


It's obviously more balanced than GK or Crons. But it's WAY better than Chaos Marines (which are undone by the changes to rhinos and the champs of chaos/boon combo)

First off, thunder hammer storm shied for free. Secondly, he doesn't scatter. Thirdly, he himself has a homer. Put a standard in a command squad, drop 'em in... Have the rest of the death wing show up around Belial.

Bubble size varies. Which one?

DW Assault- you secretly pick for them to come in on turn 1 or 2. They do so without rolling for reserves.

Is this PER SQUAD, or all of them as a whole? (they ALL come in turn 2, or squad 1 & 4 come in on turn 1, squads 2 and 3 come in on turn 2).

The Salvo banner seems pretty scary to me, the other two just seem reasonable. Wouldn't mind knowing the sizes on all of them.

just d/l the codex on my iPad . Looks like per squad, beau. Also, dw termites are all Ld 9 both the basic guy and the sgt.
They also treat all guns as twin linked the turn they deep strike in, and they can split fire. This is a ld check that allows one model in the squad to shoot at another separate target.

Edit: the halberd of caliban is pretty nasty. Str plus two, ap two, at initial weapon, and if your facing a chaos marine, it becomes ap one.

Just picked up the codex. will commence rant after dinner most likely.

edit: i havent got to the armoury yet, but so far, i love this book. all the special rules work, and it makes you WANT to play it. regardless of the points involved.

I will bring up one negative.... Ben, I am sure you will come up with a new build for your DW. Your current one just got bumped about 150pts.

5 man tact squad with a heavy.... NICE.

A ravenwing squad (full, like the battleforce) dropped a whopping 44 pts. Typhoons are STILL 75.,

You can take a mastery lvl 2 Libby for same as a similarly equipped codex Libby.

It looks like very little of the Cray Cray stayed. Dw knights DO NOT have vanguard strike. DW command ARE NOT 2 wounds and Belail does not have a 2++ save.

Sammael is 5 pts cheaper, has independent character, and the ravensword is AP2. Ver'nice.

Belail and Sammael merely need to be part of the attachment to unlock troops, not be the warlord.

Company masters can take TDA, but not bikes. Other generics can take either.

Techmarines do not have access to conversion bearers. No master of the forge, but a great little bit of fluff as to

Very surprised from reading the fluff. Most codexes hint that all is not what ot seems (blood angels slowly dying of, more going over to black rage;,vicarious's ambition, the stamping out of dissident voices by the tau), but not a WORD about how the current day DA might be the REAL fallen....

RW command squad- limited to 3 and only 3 models. Wow. I'd rather them based on a standard RW and able to go to 6 rather than black knights and 3.

LS Vengeance- 24" range. hhahahahhaha. no really.

And you have to look at the model too. Thats a bad joke.

The DW company champs Swiss army halbred/mace/sword.
