Units splitting fire

Sory all, pretty basic question,

Can a unit split its fire and pick two or more seperate targets?

e.g. if I have a 10 man squad of Guardsmen with a Lascannon team in the mix can I fire the Lascannon at a big scary tank and let the rest of the unit fire at infantry? Or must the entire squad fire their lasguns with the Lascannon at the Tank?

The whole unit fires at the same target. If guns can't hurt the target the rules say that these members are busy providing cover fire or just keeping their heads down.

A note though: Transports bought for the unit count as a separate unit, thus can fire at a different squad. And obviously each unit in a platoon is a separate squad.

The space wolves's devastator squad, called long fangs, can set themselves up for individuals within a unit to fire a separate targets. Very effective as you can take 2 lascannons and 2 heavy bolters I found to be a perfect mix. plus the wolf guard (s
argent) can take a power fist.

I don't have my wolves codex infront of me, but I think long fangs can split their fire to two seperate targets, not individualy. Can someone back me on that or is my memory off.

Just looked it up, 2 Targets max.
