Fire Raptor

I just might have to put a hold on finishing the Storm eagle and Convert it into this thing...

the chaos version is just straight up better for once, as its only 200 points and has independently firing Reaper Batteries,  so machine spirit is unnecessary.  Fly on, fire your avenger cannon and/or missiles at whatever vehicle or marine squad you want erased and then take out two separate flyers with your side mounted Quad-guns.

not too many times i want to spend 200 points on a single model, but i think this one might be worth it. av 12, 4HP flyers with optional Ceramite are going to take a lot of fire to bring down, and it can spread its fire to a lot of different targets.
We'll see if the experimental rules make it to print somewhere.

yea that one's pretty cool.  though honestly, that's alot of converting to make the eagle into the raptor; i'd finish your raptor and order this separate as those side turret balls would be a bitch to convert up and make look good; using pred or land raider sponsons would just look too dinky.

this one's definitely good for chaos, and hella cheap compared to the beefed up Roc Pattern only vanilla codex can field.  the Roc is 295, you have to take the lascannons in the wings (ergo price hike) and the missile pods up top became Str 8 AP 3 heavy 4 twin linked instead of the wussy str 5 ap 4 heavy 2 5" blasts the original has. and you drop from 20 to 14 troop capacity. all for +10pts on an original storm eagle with lascannon wings.

i think the extra 45pts for a flying land raider that holds 5 termies plus 2 termi HQs is a fair price.

but i likes me the chaos fire raptor more for a kickass heavy gunship. that doesn't look like a gay lizard with a stupid flamer on the juana juice.

the vanilla one....ehhhh........ it's nice they doubled the number of shots the heavy bolters would normally do. that's all i can say for it.

i dont think it would be that hard of a conversion, i would come up with something better than those round turrets, i'm not really a fan of a lot of the pre-heresy stuff that looks too slick. like the predators with the round sponsons and such. no thanks.

Honestly its a fairly neat looking model with interesting rules. I think it sits at a solid B+/A- on the power scale.
