Yeah. An ideal day would be a friday since the den is open till midnight, but other than that, saturday is the better choice. Doing it over two days would be an idea too.

Re: Large scale apocolypse game
How many Nid players would be coming to this? It seems like alot at the moment. With the release of the new Tyranid Codex coming up, it would be a nifty "celebration" of sorts. The planet could be under tyranid attack or something. A good background story always makes an apoc game that much more interesting

I guess that an appearance from the deathwatch is mandatory this game!

Re: Large scale apocolypse game
I don't know how the points are going to work but I;m guessing a max number of points per side divided up amongst the player so just to start putting some numbers out there I would like to bring 4500 points of orks to the xenos faction, but I can play up to 5000 if its needed to even the points (doubtful) and I'd really like to only have to play with an army as small as 4000.

hello
Hi, my name is Adam. I just moved to Saskatoon this week from Montreal, and am interested in joining your apocalypse. Its probably the type of 40k game I play most often, and always find it a good way to meet new players.
I got 4k Khorne-Chaos
I got 2k Corsair-Eldar
and 2k Tyranids
Depending on how big u want to make the game, I can add the 2k eldar to the "order team" or 6k to the "disorder team"
I brought all my models in the move, except my tanks, which should be coming in this week. So if u have room for another, I can add to either side. Also if u have questions about how apocalypse I am pretty familiar with the rules

Re: Large scale apocolypse game
Alrighty, updates! First up, the current list:
Jim - Guard
Stash - Guard
Joe - Marines
Urlec - Wolves (Possible)
Spamus - Nid
Randy - Nid
Canadin - Nid
Jesse - Nids
Reagan - Eldar
Canadin - Eldar (Possible alternate)
Freezington - Orkies
Zack - Orks
Paz - Daemons
Tyson - Dark Eldar
Alright, You may have noticed that it is sorted differently. I've basically grouped people by races just to keep it functional in my head who is with who basically. As it stands, We're most likely looking at a Imperial vs Nid fight, a side of Eldar/ork, and some daemons/Dark Eldar to just rain on everyone's parade. This is of course subject to change.
For point cost, I'm going to settle once I hear reasonably solid numbers from each player, as a shot in the dark, I'd say probably no more than 4000 points per player.
For the date, I'm musing either either January 22nd or 23rd, or more likely Feburary 5th or 6th. If that doesn't work, We can always shuffle things back to accomodate it.
All that said, I need to go to sleep, badly.

If we're doing a 6v6 at 4000 points each, we will need at least 2 days to run a 6 turn game
It may be more fun, to break it down into 2 games of 3v3 so that things don't go too slow. This is specially due to the high number of horde armies: Daemons, Nids, Orks, Guard.
So, what if we do 4 teams of 10k points each. I think then we can be able to finish both games in a single day:
Imperial VS Tyranids (3v3 or 4v4 depending on Urlec and me)
Eldar+Dark Eldar VS Chaos+Orks (3v3 or 2v2 if Zack and Freezington are teh same guy and which game I play in)
4k per person with everyone on one table will likely result in a 2 or 3 turn game which lasts 10 hours.
If we break it down into smaller games I think it'll be more fun games.
What do you guys think?

Re: Large scale apocolypse game
Pretty sure Caros was allready planning on making it multi-table.
As far as points, I'll be able to field pretty much any number you want for this game.

I play Corsair Eldar, I'd sooner ally my forces with likeminded Dark Eldar than Craftworld Eldar,
However, any eldar is still miles above lesser races like Orks or Humans.
Orks are so violent, that Im suprised they don't just worship Khorne to begin with

Not sure what corsair eldar is, but I am sure eldar would never allie with chaos, and especially their fallen kin but meh

Re: Large scale apocolypse game
Corsair Eldar: Craftworld Eldar who have left the craftworlds to follow their own path (similar to Rangers and other Outcasts). Sometimes good, sometimes bad. As for allying with Craftworld Eldar, I can cite Prince Yriel returning with his Corsair fleet to assist Iyanden Craftworld when they were attacked by the Tyranids.
Despite their pirate nature, I am fairly sure Corsair Eldar don't require the souls of other beings to live. Unlike the 'like-minded Dark Eldar'.
Oh, and Gork and Mork fit Ork's way better than Khorne anyway.
BTW, if I had to vote on a time, I would say Feb. 5th & 6th would work best for me. But I can make the end of Jan. work as well.

Re: Large scale apocolypse game
Gah, appologies Zack, was half asleep when I edited that, and I always think that your name on here is someone else. =/
That does change things around a little in the way I plan to set up 'teams', but I'm basically going to give it until the end of my work week (The 6th) before I finalize things. After that point, I might accept new people, but it'll be much less likely, and only if I can fit them into the existing set up.
As it is now, The games are likely to be two boards, One for the imperial v. Nid, and another for the additional forces (Eldar/orks/etc.) The daemons are likely going to get dumped onto the larger board as I've a bit of a plan for them, and the dark eldar will almost certainly be on the latter board.
We've got one vote for Feb, Anyone else? Hehe.
Off for food, have a good day peoples.

Re: Large scale apocolypse game
I vote early Feb.
A - I can make it there
B - I can get more nids painted!
So how many pts per player is it exactly?
Also other Nid players - what is our count on all of our gaunts? May I suggest "endless swarm"?

Re: Large scale apocolypse game
I am available for both weekends,
And btw, Corsairs are core world eldar that simply were out pirating when the empire fell. So, they are just as crazy as the dark eldar. They just dont live in the warp; and they tend to kill their prey, rather than take prisoners like the Dark Eldar.

Adding Chaos/Orks will be good. That would even out the 2nd table.

Re: Large scale apocolypse game
Alright, appologies again for the repeated delays. I've been somewhat ill and incredibly busy for the last week or so.
That said, I've already been scrawling up some of the basic outline stuff. Febuary 5th looks like the day to play unless there is any significant problem with that (If there is, Say it now so I can jump it back another two weeks.)
Final List:
Jim - Guard
Stash - Guard
Joe - Marines
Urlec - Wolves (Possible)
Spamus - Nid
Randy - Nid
Canadin - Nid
Jesse - Nids
Reagan - Eldar
Canadin - Eldar (Possible alternate)
Zack - Orkies
smackman - Orks
Paz - Daemons
Tyson - Dark Eldar
To give people an idea since I'm sure they are curious, the setup I'm currently going to be going for is as follows:
The primary board will be an "I" Board, With the tyranid players assaulting a section of an imperial city. Daemons will either be 'allied' with the Nids, or with neither side, depending on how point costs work out.
The second board will be a pretty standard apocolypse match. Eldar Vs. Orks. The secondary board will have a bunch of special rules that affect the primary board (Bombardment etc.)
As far as point costs: For the moment I'm goint to assume a point cost of 4000 per person, for a total of 16000 per side. If you can't match that, its fine, Most sides should have someone who can make up the difference, failing that, extra strategic assets etc for the win. =)
