flesh tearers formation
a poster on B&C got a copy of the shield of baal exterminatus book and was sharing some of the formations today. the FT get this FOC variant and warlord traits:
it's an interesting chart and will probably get scooped up by the people that got boned from them moving assault marines into the Fast slot in this codex.
here's some of the formations:
Vanguard Strike Force
3 tactical squads
1 assault squad
1 vanguard veteran squad
1 furioso dreadnought
while the vv's are alive, everyone gets to ignore the penalties for disordered charges
everyone gets red thirst [confers +1 ini on charge]
Lysios Relief Force
Everyone gets crusader
All non-vehicle units in this formation that do not have the deep strike special rule, or the jump infantry unit type, must be embarked upon a transport vehicle; which may not be a drop pod.
All units in the formation must be placed in reserve.
All units arrive at once on a single reserve roll
Gabriel seth
1 tactical squad
1 vanguard veteran squad
1 baal predator
1 predator
1 storm raven
The Defenders of Cathedrum
everyone gets counter attack and stubborn
1 terminator squad
1 death company squad
2 tactical squads
1 assault squad
1 furioso dreadnought
Strike Force Razor Wind
Lysios Relief Force + The Defenders of Cathedrum
you can make reserve rolls starting on turn one, and every non-vehicle in the formation has fearless within 12 inches of Gabriel Seth.
warlord traits
- hatred for lord and unit
- lord gets rampage
- warlord and unit gets hammer of wrath
- all Ba faction within 12 inches of lord get crusader
- lord and unit get rage
- lord has fnp
the detachment
1-2 HQ
1-4 Troop
1-6 Fast Attack
0-3 Elite
0-3 Heavy
0-1 Fort
0-1 LoW
benefits of using this alternate FOC:
re-roll warlord trait
if anything in the detachment rolls 10 or higher on a charge, they get the rage special rule [like orcs, it's just what you roll in total, not how far you actually go]

all models must either have jump packs or begin the game in the storm raven.
bonuses:
all of the units get Crusader
the squad in the stormraven will gain Rage, and the ability to re-roll failed charge rolls on the turn it leaves the raven.
the entire formation starts in reserve and enters the table on a single roll, which can be re-rolled.
the units in the formation that enter via deep strike gain Counter-attack and Fearless until the start of your next turn.
