Battlefoam normally does a US thanksgiving sale. Anybody interested?

How's this work // how much does it cost // how much would one person need? It'd be nice to have something effective to transport an army in. Especially if we go to another Astro.

Say I wanted to transport 2 wave serpents, a Fire Prism, a Wraith Knight, and a bunch of dudes on foot, what'd I need to get?

I wonder about that kr multi case and the differences between them and battlefoam. The auto fill is just so easy to use though they are missing so many armies for custom trays

take a look on their product section and see what they have for pre-made trays mark. if they have some setups that'll work for you, that's a cheaper route to go. a custom tray made to your specs tends to be $35 per tray meant for their bags.  an empty PACK720 bag (the medium ones best for tournament days) run about $130 at the den with no trays in them at all.  you now get the choice of olive, red, or blue in this bag size.

KR vs BF: BF is a "hard" foam, with just a little give. It protects the models by giving them a limited amount to move, and a little give to keep them from breaking.
KR is a "soft" foam like what you find in GW cases. Its more personal preference than anything.

KR autofill, from several test cases, tend to give more than you need. At least partially because it will FILL the case.

BF go with predone foam. Dont go custom unless you have to. You can get 3 trays for the price of 2.
Exception: If you get a case with custom foam, its the same price.

They have a 3.5" 3x Fire Prism Tray that should hold the tanks. Something like 3 different infantry trays, the WraithKnight would need a custom tray regardless, likely on its side. Whats the Width/Depth/Height of the model?

You'd likely need a 432 ($145, 7.5 in of foam) or a 720 ($190, 12 in of foam)

We wouldn't be ordering until late November, so you have plenty of time.

Mark, we can get together sometime and measure your minis for the custom stuff, like dikembe.

So I am considering getting in on this. As much as I love my case it is fairly impractical for where I live and if I was to travel with models.

What size case would you guys recommend? I know that I want to go with pluck foam since my next big project is going to be my GK and those models do not conform to even the custom foam trays. 

Also do we have any idea what the discounts will look like?

Discount has varied by year. 10-25% They give a 15% discount to military personnel, I'd expect this to be about the same.

The 720 is a good all around case. You can get almost any army in there at 2000 pts, and for the few you can't, its easy to add a Pack Plus. I have one, as does Stelmach and Bidyk. Matt G has a 420, Dan has a couple but I can't remember the sizes.

The GK troop trays (PA and Termie) fit pretty well. I have one of each. Main issue is they seem to overestimate the number of "short" weapons. Realistically only the Falchions fit in short spaces. If you let me know what your GK list has, I can suggest some stuff.

i have the Pack Air as well. which i do not suggest unless you have many large pieces or want to keep two armies in it, its just too big and I'm doubtful that their claims that it fits in overhead carry-on is valid.

The Black Friday sale is this weekend. BF Bags are 25% off, but very little details given. I've sent a Tweet and a email asking for clarification. Going to try calling tomorrow.

I'm seriously considering it. Just want to know my options.  

When all is said and done, price on the website is likely your final price. Shipping is usually 25-33%, so the discount will balance most of it out. I can do a test run Friday and let everyone know the estimate.

Holy geez, 9 weeks for production. If a sale puts you that behind, maybe you should just lower prices across the board, so it spreads it out throughout the year...
