Hunters of the Warp Circuit Challenge #1

Monday it is. Ack.. looks like my dude wont be fully painted, thats for sure. He'll be fully modelled though!

Those four weeks went quick.

What time on Monday does it end? It may come down to the wire for me lol.

I know the feeling. I'm not even done my flats yet, let alone any kind of free hand, shading, or fancy stuff. Blow drier, don't fail me now!

I've been jumping back and forth between the painting, working on the base, and putting together his shield. Sadly the latest attempt on the shield ended up in catastrophic failure but I got a good feeling for tomorrows attempt. Switching to greenstuff lol.

Will the speed freak warboss be the most complete HQ?

I picked up some fresh brushes and a can of Purity Seal yesterday. Just need to do flats on a few more details, and then it gets mounted, sealed, washed, and sealed again.

I am uploading pictures of my finished model presently. Afterwards I will be updating my competition blog.

YouTube is currently processing the 360 spin vid.

Oh.. monday midnight? We'll get people to upload final pictures tuesday night .. you can upload them into your competition blog. Ill grab one picture from each person and put them into one thread with a voting poll.

k, so I'm done my Farsight, but I won't have access to a camera until Randy gets home from work tonight (Tuesday) and I can get my pictures done up. Is it alright if I post the pictures for him when Randy gets home in the evening?

I personally wouldn't mind. Shit happens, c'est la vie.

I personally don't care, but a cynic would point out you could spend an extra day working on it.

If a cynic was concerned I could take Farsight down to the den and show him in his full completion. I just suffer the problem of having a PoS phone that can't send pictures lol.

I like how many people got started on this right out of a gate, it's just a shame how many just didn't make it to finish. If nothing else, though, a bunch of HQs did get started.

I think he meant with how cool most of the entries had turned out it would have been even cooler to see everyone's. I know that I was looking forward to seeing your's and Beau's and we clearly should live in a society where nothing takes a backseat to our plastic crack!  

Im actually pretty surprised how many did get done!

In the.past.. we've been lucky to get a 10% completion rate.

I am really surprised I got mine in.. i did the painting in two nights andi still have.to.complete a few things.

I finished my newest hq 3 days before the announcement of this contest lol so that was a grr moment and I have no other hqs place for my new army lol, oh well maybe the next one

That's to bad. I am terrified to start working on something now in case it would qualify for the next challenge  

I knew I wouldn't have time due to my present, rabid, Civ 5 addiction.... (and kids stuff too)

I could've done the Zandrek Obyron duo. They're presently "white"

I can certainly appreciate that, having lost two weeks in the middle of this competition to moving my grandparents out of the house they've lived in for the past 45 years, and all the associated "joys" that brings with it. I have to say though, those that did finish turned out great. I just hope that life is more permitting for entrants in the next competition. Next time it will have to compete with work for time on my end, but I can't say I'm too terribly sad about that development.

The winter months are definitely better for painting on average. Maybe double up on the time to complete, and have a second challenge start in the middle of the first one so it still seems like it's getting done in the same time frame it does now?

Only other suggestion would be to post a list of what the upcoming paint challenge choices are gonna be so people could prioritize what to paint when. That way stuff like bears case happens less often.

In my case I lost my drive cause that guys like my 20th HQ choice in my collection. Need to work on my troops! Lol

These are just small short challenges to get a bit of moticlvation for.painting and earn yourself some circuit points.

4 weeks is a long time for a single model..i thought it was perfect. If you lost motivation, got busy, or werent interested.. thats fine. Im very happy a chunk of us got done.

Im not going to reveal the contests early though.. people can get a headstart then. I want these started new! Ill hit a few basics and some weird ones as well. If you bavr a suggestion feel free to pm me.

In the meantime.. prepare yourself for the next contest.. aptly titled.. "whatever the hell you want".

You'll be able to do a single infantry model, or a whole unit! You can finish a partially completed model.. . or construct a titan! My only parameter will be to take a picture before you start so we can into account what was done previously.

Ill get the official competition thread done shortly but you can start thinking about it now.

Curious. Does it have to be a 40k miniature? I get that its generally a 40K forum, but I've a bunch of Infinity models I need ambition to paint
I may enter a Blood Angel unit too...
