Zone Mortalis Results

so i want to start off by thanking the guys that showed, it seemed like everyone had alot of fun and enjoyed this style of game. many of the lists that i initially thought would be strong and others weak did surprisingly different when faced with all the hallways.

also, to let everyone be aware, i decided to leave the boards at the den, they're in the unpainted wooden shelving unit at the back, beside the white one.  please treat them gently and dont break them, as they will be used for the next tournament, along with any more boards i make so there can be more players.

Now this is where i have to give a big apology. while adding the scores and putting away the boards, i forgot to add mark's battlescores to his paint score, and the order of who got the 3 prizes was mixed up.

The prizes were thus:

• 1st got $40,
  
• 2nd got $30,
  
• Favorite Opponent got $20.

On my list that first overlord should be a destroyer lord. I have to say, though, awesome event. I think for next time, knowing what I know now, I would have taken wraiths instead of acanthrites and would have split up the scarabs into two squads.

Fun event, really changes things up.

I got super lucky against Jessie in round 1 and killed two terminators on Overwatch.  Reaction Fire is crazy good.

Edit: There were no Lychguard this time, that was the version of my list that didn't feature the C'Tan. I'm glad I brought the C'Tan, he single-handedly won me round 3, without him, Tom would've stomped me.

Round 1 he did not bad. Just killed a terminator, but then when he exploded, he killed two more and 3 members of a strike squad.

Round 2, he killed a terminator, then got punched in the face by Beau's deathwing. I think I'd've taken Lord of Fire, Moulder of Worlds, Pyreshards, Writhing Worldscape didn't do much for me.

Me and Mason came by at 4 to check things out and say hi. and you guys were gone! I was thinking maybe I had the wrong day then I did runinto Tom.. fast event!

Thats the nice thing about those ZM games, not alot of places to run and hide.

I really wanted to bring my BT out for one last show before the new codex. Alas between being gone last weekend and chores I couldn't stay for long today. Looked like a lot of fun though!

Excellent event, I had a lot of fun.

I was pleasantly suprised by the performance of my Deathwing, this is by FAR, the best I've ever done at a tourney. I even had a shot at Mark, if his Overlord would.ve just STAYED DEAD one of the THREE TIMES I killed him, I would've had a shot at a draw or even a win.

By the same token, my games vs Tom and Randy could've swung differently on a single roll. Tom's failed charge would've put me in a bind if it'd gone off, and if Randy's broodlord would've come on it would've been trouble.

Ideas for next time: 1500 points would work easily, same boards. Some terrain wreckage (the little stuff on the shelves) on the boards could add some flair. and the KABLOOEY TABLE!!!!
