not sure why BT gets to share, none of the others do.

That being said, it looks like BT got a lot more attention than most of the other chapters... for good or bad.

I still think the Iron Hand's army wide FNP is pretty awesome, even if it is only 6+, that's still an extra dice roll vs plasma or weaker for most models.

Also army wide IWND is beast. I am seriously underwhelmed by the BT rumors. Upside Grimaldus is basically an auto-include (Helsreach has to be my favorite BL novel of all time). Downside is that crusader squads will still be rubbish in Close Combat. That and Helbrect still doesn't have enough special rules to follow his fluff.

I think that there will be tons of mix/match allies shenanigans going on.

If your going to include bikes in your army, why not ally in khan? lets get some imperial fist devastators with tank hunters in there. .etc etc

Hell, I'm already eyeing up the current codex for ally modules for my Grey Knights to give them increased Mechanicus representation. If I can snag the Iron Hands stuff for free on top of that, I would totally be down for that.

That shield is boss. I see a lot of people taking that.

Everything else is meh. Very expensive for what it does.

The shield is boss. I'm not too sure how the others are "meh". The armour maybe. You should pay a price . It's nice that you can essentially create your own character.

Well the one is only ap3, which to me is always meh. You really need to be ap2 for challenges. The other one would be awesome, except you have a 1/6 chance to bonk yourself each turn (which means player turn in this edition). Over the course of a game that is a lot of chances for ap2 hits.

The gun is nifty, but only has ap 4, which is why I think its just meh. I just hate the salvo rules. Half range from moving is stupid. I agree with a terminator commander is the only way to use it.

The other armor imo is pretty bad. Oo one turn of 2+ invul. Or I could just buy this way better shield and get two even better special rules? I suppose you could do something gimmicky with it.

I will say that my BT will be busting out that banner every game though. Hatred is funzies. Smile

That sword is pretty rad.  Even with the chance of wounding yourself.   It's 1 in 24 chance of a wound on a captain with a iron halo, which I imagine captains and masters still get.

maybe i'm just paranoid about roles like that. Razz 

giving more thought to the other sword. would function very much like the black mace on a biker character. drives around messing up random troop squads.... might be worth a playtest or two.

I'm hopeful for a good book. By all accounts tacticals got cheaper, and if the Hunter can actually deal with heldrakes, you might see a bunch more marines on the table, taking asses and kicking names.

Out of something like 250 players at the NOVA open there was apparently 6(?) vanilla marine lists.

Hunter has armour bane and any misses will hit on a 5+ in subsequent turns until the flyer is destroyed or leaves the table. Supposed to be like a heat seeking missile but fluff-wise is actually the mind of a chapter serf. (so I've read)

I really like the sword too. I am going to try to model the sword on a Salamader biker captain using the flaming sword from the Empire mage kit.

The meta just doesn't lend itself to marines right now, couple small changes could make all the difference. also, i'm of the opinion that marines arn't getting played just because they haven't been the new kid on the block, with xenos army books getting released. everyone wants to play with thier old toys. most long time marine players have a tau, eldar, daemons army in the closet and why not pull them out and take them to the tourney if they got new rules and are competitive. I'm sure the next few tourneys are going to be chock full of power armour.

I'm rather blown away by the fact that the book hasn't even hit shelves yet, and decent scans are already floating around out there. The laurels around the page numbers are a nice touch.
