Re: Simple Green
I think Canadian tire, though watch out, theres one with a purple label, one with a green label, i dont know which one you're supposed to use, hopefully someone on here will know. All you to is chuck your models in it, let soak for as long as you like, (though i think a couple hour- a day depending on how thick the paint is caked on) and then run it under the tap and scrub with an old tooth brush. Great stuff apparently , i've been meaning to go grab some myself

Re: Simple Green
yea, you want the purple HD heavy duty one. pour it into a container undiluted, and in a day or two it'll be ready for the paint to come off. if your paint's thick, or you used Krylon brand spray as a primer, it's gonna take close to a week for it to eat the paint off.
also, buy yourself a nice cheap little electric toothbrush. one with the round spinny head. $8. use that to brush the globs of paint that'll be falling off the model like rotting flesh. you could use a normal brush, but it takes alot longer, and these ones have a small enough bristle head that they tend to work better for the fiddly areas.
just dont do what dan did the first time, and try to go cheap and buy the 1L green spray bottle that's a really diluted weaker recipe for window cleaning, and it wont strip paint to save your life. the purple one's meant for pressure washing stone, tile, and old paint off houses, so it's alot better for taking old paint off models.
as for where, crappy tire, in the pressure washer section. there's gonna be a half shelf with a bunch of 1 gallon square jugs of different brands. some greens, some purples, pinks, think there's a blue too but its for something special. you'll find it in there.

Re: Simple Green
I went for the green jug of Simple Green myself, as it was labeled as the Heavy Duty pressure washer fluid, and I got it for around $15. If you're cleaning pewter models, I let them soak for a few hours and then use a steel brush head on a Dremel tool to scour them. Tends to clean them to a polished shine. For plastic and resin, though, a tooth brush is a must, as the Dremel would destroy them.

Re: Simple Green
i use the purple stuff, it works well. you can spend a lot of time scrubbing still if the models have crevasse or creases. i usually end up using a pick to pull paint out of hard to reach places.

Re: Simple Green
Well im not sure what its made out of, so i suppose it could be people. In the end though if it takes the paint off, does it matter?

That movie was horrible. Only made good by 30 seconds of ridiculousness. The whole sunset movie thing as a metaphor for euthanasia was ... Goofy.
