I need 2 volunteers to arrive early and help with tables.
Sportsmanship will be a 5 point checklist at the end of each game. I, as tournament organizer, will also be awarding up to 5 points to each player, you can potentially lose these points for slow play. Play at a brisk pace, this is a 1750 2.5hr/round event.
Painting will be scored based on a checklist, similar to other events. Your painting score will be normalized based on the percentage of your army that has been painted. For example, 9/10'ths of your army receive 18/20 on your painting score (nicely done! You just didn't get that Riptide finished to a 3-colour standard). You'll end up with a 16/20 (rounded to the nearest whole integer).
EDIT:
Games will be scored as follows.
Victory Points >= Double your opponent = 20/20
Victory Points > Opponent = 15/20
Victory Points = Opponent = 10/20
Victory Points < Opponent = 5/20
Victory Points <= Double your opponent = 0/20

I hadn't decided yet. I was leaning "No" to keep the rounds brisk, as that'd reduce rule lookups during games.

Is there any FW that *has* been holding things up? I can't see it doing any worse than Chaos boon or Warpstorm really...

I'de potentially have either the storm eagle or a couple Saber Turrets.
I'm not fussed either way, just messing with my list and wanted to figure out where to focus painting.

If I may allow a humble suggestion. If you could have some way (a guide, a line of dice, string, otherwise) set up for people in the 1st round playing vanguard strike. That deployment always seems to cause trouble and waste precious gaming time.
Or do you think that people have it figured out by now?

What Beau said, and that's also why it's first, so if you run into snack time, that's your own problem! Haha, hunger pains.

ugh, so wish I could show up. Alas even if painting or spontanious work wasn't an issue wedding anniversary probably trumps 40k tournament. Or at least that is what my wife would think....
I look forward to epic tales of bad/good dice rolls determining games.
edit: I might be able to put tentatively attending. I dunno if I want to show with a bunch of un/crappily painted stuff even if I am able to show. I solved the wedding anniversary conundrum though.

If GW doesn't get off their lazy asses and produce a FAQ before May 11th, I'll be using the Adepticon FAQ to resolve issues as they arise.

I like that adepticon FAQ. Cleared up a mind shackles thought I had, about when it occurs during the issuing kg a challenge. Seems the guys down south agree its the active player's choice if mindshackle is tested before or after challenge is issued.
