5th Edition Scenarios

There are some pretty weird ones in there, but for the most part it sounds good. What i find really interesting is the new line cinema logo at the bottom of the cover page. Could it be that we are finally going to see a 40k movie? Ahh good old rumor mongering

Almost certainly has to do with the licensing agreement for Lord of the rings and the scenario packs and stuff for them.

It's actually a fun game, it's just with every 40k/fantasy player already having about 6-7 projects on the go it was always a tough sell to get people into that game. I mean, how can people really justify painting up new armies for 40k, fantasy, and LotR?

I try every now and again to pick up a fig and paint it but I've got my fantasy projects about 3 deep now, The death Korps project, 3 flames of war armies etc......

Still, I really do like the game. Simple, fast, but still evokes great cinematic images from the films and books. EZverything a skirimish game should be.

i will admit that the LoTR game has never inspired me, but the booo was more aimed at the fact that you shattered my 40k movie hopes.

My psychic intuition may have been correct after all.

Black Library in response to an audience question replied (paraphrasing): "Well, hypothetically, there could maybe be a direct to DVD release of some kind of CGI movie with Ultramarines next year. Maybe." The quality of said effort was described as being on the same level as the Dawn of War II cutscenes. Essentially the Black Library presenter made clear that something is in the works, while issueing no guarantees as to whether it would ever be finished, or released, much less an actual timeline.

Heard that one before. I wouldn't get my hopes up at all. Years ago they "had" one on the go - Bloodquest - about blood angels, of course, even had screen shots in white dwarf. Then it was "forgotten" like many other GW projects.
