Potential Scythe & Vendetta Nerf

Best Case: Re-pointed Cron and Guard flyers, new Eldar/Tau/SOB flyers, Storm Pigeon extended to BT and Wolves, additional AA options.

Worst Case: Reprints of the WD articles with the Erreta/FAQ tacked on.

If they print a $60 book and do not address the Cron and Guard flyers, they need to rethink their business model...

Also, maybe hold of the release a month and, I dunno, run the book thru spell check?

imagine if flyers got Faq'd and price adjusted to a managable point cost, making them an option as apposed to a necessity...

Looks more like a supplement with some scenarios and a reprint of all the WD flyers to me.

Surprisingly little real knowledge out there for a hardcover book supposedly shipping in two weeks.

not overly surprising, since it sounds like it's going to be a direct-order only book. these wont be shipped to the stores to be held on the shelves; the stores will have to specifically order them in because someone wants the book.

The rumor are 50/50 its exactly the opposite (ie permanent supplement). That said it SOUNDS like Crusade of Fire... which would be unfortunate.

Newest rumor on bols is no nerf. Flying as intended.

I'm less worried about the Valk/Vendetta.... as Guard are at least floating thru the rumormill.....

The Scythe is a HUGE issue, and they will be a long way off for a new Dex.... The issues need to be FAQd and quickly. Seriously how hard is it to say "Now 160 pts."

The Doomscythe is fine if they do something about the Close Combat situation. 175 is a lot of points for something that can't shoot after it's evaded or stunned.

I dont think anything will change.. BUT the same quote keeps getting cycled.. No changes to rules. Theres a small bit of hope for a points change.

That Gw store in west ed. was always the worst.

Have you been to Whyte Knight Mark? Thats my.favorite.place to go in edmonton.. You never know what the hell youll find there.

Theres also a great gaming store in St. Albert called Mission ..ridge ? I think.. Mission something. Nice store.

Best story I heard of a gw store was when 2 guys (I think from eternal warriors podcast) went into a store in another city and pretended not to know anything about the game to one of the 2 gw store attendants to get the free model/demo game/painting tips. About 10m in the other store attendant walked up and whispered to one of them and said "I'll play along but it's hard to believe you know nothing of the game when your friend has a inquisitorial I tattooed on his arm".
I kinda wanna try that if I ever get the chance lol!

Best one I ever had:

Red Shirt: "Looking for some Space Marines?" *I was actually looking for a GK with a psycannon*

Me: "Just looking.... I'm good thanks, can you tell me.."

RS: *Not taking the hint*- "Why not add some Tactical squads, you can always bulk up your troops?"

Me: "I have enough, thanks. I'm looking for..."

RS: "Oh how many?"

Me: "....2 companies...."

We just left the WEM GW and the had nothing new on the shelf. Not even a store copy.

Funniest thing ever is watching the dude in the corners paint up the stores mandatory display of hobbit goblins with this bored out of his mind expression on his face.

I manage to shut them up with an indepth analysis of why whatever they're talking to me about is terrible.

yeah. they kinda hate when people know the actual game.

I generally get that look of

and i look back at them with look of
" ... well played"
and promptly leave.

the only thing i can say for GW stores is that their terrain is really nice most of the time. vastly different from what we play on at the Den.

Completely off topic except that it relates to trips to Edmonton... but... North Battleford is the only place i ever go that i dont want to wash my hands after pissing because touching any handles, doors, candybars, gas pumps, ... anything,.... is going to completely negate the exercise =x

Lmao, that's why we kept those travel bottles of disinfectant hand cleaner in our work trucks when I worked at Alsask fire. The guys grabbed a fresh one whenever we saw we got the battle ford area that week.
