Welcome to Sixth Edition Tournament, November 17th *more details in first post* **No Spots Left!*
Hello Everyone,
It is with great excitement that I announce a "Welcome to Sixth Edition" tournament. November 17th is the day to Circle on your Calendar.
$10 Entry fee, going directly to Prize Support

12:30PM to 1:00PM: Snacky Lunch Snack Time
1:00PM to 3:00PM: Round 2

5:15PM to End: We be done yo, prizes and stuff.
As you've seen, three rounds. 1500 points.
Allies are... Allowed!
Warlord Traits will be same as tooncon, roll, then pick your table. Chaos players can either choose their warlord table, or the roll & pick method.
Points will be awarded for the result of each game | Painting will factor in at around a quarter of your best overall score
Mission detail to follow.
Prizes for:
Best Overall
Best Paint
Best Sports
Mystery Awesome Prize 1 (This prize is awesome)
Mystery Awesome Prize 2 (This prize is equally as awesome as Mystery Prize 1)
Mystery Awesome Prize 3 (This prize is more awesome than the above 2)
I'm working at digging up a sponsor, so there may be a pair of super awesome amazing door-prizes.
I'm not doing a rules quiz, as I alluded to in my other thread :-P

EDIT:
Everything in the 6th Edition Rules is allowed.
Missions:
We will be rolling missions before the start of each round, with everyone playing the same mission. Once a Mission has been played, it will be struck from the list and should it be rolled again, that result will not count and the mission will be re-rolled. The same follows for deployment. That yields a ~50% chance that any specific mission from the book will be played, and each deployment type will be played once. Each table will roll for night-fight individually as required.
Edit: They had this posted for Mechanicon... and it applies to us :-) Hopefully this clears up the forgeworld questions people have been asking.
- 3 games at 1500 points. You must use the same list in every game and lists are to be exchanged with your opponent before each game. You must have the rulebook and codex books for your force and allies
- We will be using ALL the rules from the new 6th Edition version, As-Is. (My note: Except for the Warlord above, also only one table will have Mysterious Forests // Rivers // Archetypes | This will be clearly identified)
- Forge World models and lists are permitted – the most current version of the rules/FAQs from 6th Edition are needed and you must have the proper book
- GW FAQ’s will be used
EDIT 2:
Terrain
Terrain will be setup before players start to arrive. There will be 3 "Moderately special Tables", one featuring some Mysterious Forests, another featuring Mysterious Rivers (or bodies of water), and one featuring an Artifact.
When playing your game, we will roll for deployment style, objectives (if any) will be deployed, you will roll off for sides, roll for night fight, roll warlord traits, and then place any fortifications, then deploy.
Game-Play
After the end of your game, you will have an opportunity to write something "cinematic" that happened. This can be a tale of woe caused by ridiculous dice rolls, or something really cool that you pulled off. This "cinematic" thing that happened should be brief (just a few sentences please), and may or may not be related to the "Mysterious Prizes" ^_^
EDIT 3: Signup your face! There's 9 spots left.
EDIT 4: Bring 5 copies of your army list. One for me, one for you, and one for each opponent to cherish and love for all eternity.
EDIT 5: 5 spots left. If you haven't signed up, best do it soon. If we fill up, there will be a $100 top prize.
EDIT 6: There will be a raffle for a set of "Battlefield in a Box" Rivers. $1 for 3 entries, $5 for 20 entries. These will be featured on one of the tables as a "Mysterious River".
EDIT 7: Scoring
Battles will award up to 20 points to your overall score, for a maximum of 60 pts.
Painting will award up to 25 points to your overall score. A 3-colour standard will get you a minimum of 10 points, get painting. Painting will be judged by me, and maybe with bonus Thiessen points, if Thiessen comes :-)
Sportsmanship will award up to 15 points. This will be player scored via a very fair checklist.
EDIT 8: Time
We have 2 hours for each game. There's a wee-bit of flexibility in the schedule, but time will be called 20 minutes before the end of the round with the expectation that you will finish the *GAME TURN* that you're presently on. Keep an eye on that clock. I'll be walking around asking what turn you're on.

I will sign up the next time in Toon Town (probably next weekend). Not that it matters but is Forge World allowed (specifically 40k approved rules, I don't run anything that is experimental)?

If you have a warm work area to use, I would highly recommend spray priming and using an air brush to base. Sure, you have to wait for things to dry, but you can go through a crazy volume, if need be.

re 6th tourney
Well Beau we had that chat yesterday and I asked the wife if I could go to the tourney on our anniversary. I could probably go but I might have to crash on your couch for a couple days, weeks, or months. Hope you don't mind.

When I say modified deployment, I mean deployed after the table terrain, not before.

It allows us to setup tables. Another option would be, "only Aegis Defense Lines"

bastions also have a very small footprint. i think those are the two most pre-set terrain tournaments are going with? Most people agree that the fortress/landing pad is a little to big to accommodate with pre-set terrain.
