Colored Necron Rods

I was wondering if anyone had found a good site or physical location to buy colored rods for use in Gauss Flayers and their ilk. If ordering online turns out to be the only option for obtaining those bits, I'd be open to splitting an order with someone to help reduce shipping costs.

they have a sale on till the end of the day buy magnets and get free shipping, magnets are the same price as shipping and are always handy. also they are in canada so dont have to deal with customs or anything

MWG is great since they have nice selections for the rods and tell you which are for what type of model. the only down side is the red and blue rods for warrior-sized weapon rods are almost always out of stock it seems. the yellows however are always in stock.

tom, if you go on youtube and search necron colored rods, you should find MWG videos showing all 3 rod colors being used on a necron army before the newest codex came out. the blues and reds look very nice, and would work great for your tron theme.

that said, i looked at that link you posted, and they're selling the same rod for $1.60 compared to MWG's $3.99.

I have been aware of MWG's selection for some time now, the problem largely being they are perpetually out of stock of the red Warrior sized ones, as I was looking to rod up my 30 Warriors. The only other thing I have that would use those rods would be the old Gauss Cannons I have for the Destroyers, and they've been placed into conversion queue for Spyder making.

the other option is to just use painted doweling. I even picked up some blue plastic tubing that could be the right size. i get it from hobbyworld for $0.87 foot. They call it "antenna tubes" but meh, works good for making Gatling guns and extended exhaust pipes for rhinos.

I personally find the clear tubes to be a little wonky looking on otherwise painted models. same with flying bases. my suspension of disbelief is being suspended!

I will have to check out Hobby World next time I'm in Toon Town, then. Might be the best solution, eliminating shipping charges and letting me buy local at the same time.

im not sure that the antenna tubes are a thin enough diameter. i run R/C's, and i think they're thicker than that iirc. if you grab the smaller ones for the 1/16 scale R/C's, maybe. but they might be close.
