Badab War- Phase 1 (week of Sept 19-Sept 25)

Anyone who's looking for a game please post here, with your affiliation (Side and chapter--Secessionist and Astral Claws, for instance).

Several ppl will be playing on Wendesday night starting @5:30/6:00. 1000 pt Boarding Action missions.

I am available on wednesdays starting at 5pm. I hope that some others will also be avail if they can get there that early at the den. I can only play until 630pm as I have to be at work for 7pm on Wednesdays.

I am also avail most fridays during the day from 1pm - 3pm

cool. just remember guys, that i "believe"...that the one emphasis being placed is to refrain from using the named characters in your army's codex, and only use the named character of the chapter you choose to represent. IF you want to field a csm named guy, like say kharne, you have to get your opponent's permission before the game starts. but if your using your "badab chapter's" named guy, there's no need to ask.

picking astral claws really benefits you, robyn, since they have by far the most special characters. i'll be eager to see if you field any, and which ones. do you plan to scratchbuild any? or just get the models of the FW ones? i think commodus could easily be converted from a gabriel seth model; the wargear is completely wysiwyg; just gotta file off the fleshtearer markings and he's an astral claw!

I could probably make it to the den at around 5:30 if that gives enough time for a game.

that will give us an hour for set up and play aprox. if we are quick about it it should be good.

Selik/Canadin: I'm going to *TRY* to get there @ 5 and set up some boards. Boarding Actions have been very quick in my experience, and if the boards ready I think you guys can be done in an hour.

No restrictions, I'd just say dont go nuts (Dual lash-princes, with Greater Daemons; or using daemons for all 6 troop choices).

Personally, I rather liked your "tickle-trunk" list, where you kinda randomly picked units out of your bag, and handed me my @ss on turn 5:)

Also, if you guys are worried about how long you have to play, or you want your game to be a bloody melee right away, cut the board down to a 3x3 playing area. At 1000pts, running through all those halls with your reserves on a 4 foot table means you might never face combat with one of them. Just something to consider. I think the board size I'm making from foamboard might be better in a 3x3 format, and I wanna see if the battles get more intense playing that way; might even get almost 2 games in over the course of a normal 1500pt game.

Im going to try out Malakim Phoros this week and see how he runs. 175 is kinda costly, but he does have 2+/4++ and some neat special rules. As for Daemon Princes, I'll probly use them once on the ground and at higher point values.
