WARHAMMER 40K Tournament Sunday August 21

There are no Saturdays available for August, but Darren has offered to open the Den early on a sunday

1500 points, 3 rounds
10am-12pm Round 1: Seize Ground with Spearhead deployment >> 5 objectives, 1 in the center of each quarter and one in the center of the board
12pm-2pm Round 2: Annihilation with Pitched Battle deployment
2pm-2:50pm Lunch Break
2:50pm-4:50pm Round 3: Capture and Control with Dawn of War deployment. In addition to the regular objectives: each player chooses one of his opponent's HQ's. If that HQ is destroyed at the end of the game, they get an additional control point.

Ties will go to victory points, and a winner will be called if one player destroyed at least 300 points more than his opponent.

Each win is worth 3 points, losses 1, and ties are 2. Players will also receive bonus points for sportsmanship and painting.

a 10$ entrance fee to be paid either in advance or on the day of the event at Dragon's Den; prizes for top ranked players as well as:: painting prize, sportsmanship, and random if enough players sign up

canadin, I think the Den is booked for a FOW tournament on the 20th. If it's not, they have already posted their event for August 20th on the Sask FOW forum. Just a heads up.

Adam, a slight request... would it be possible to stretch the lunch break to an hour? It seems like every tourney someone runs tight and ends up w/ no time to grab a bite. Or is anyone interested in ordering a few pizzas for delivery or something?

ok, with sunday being the day for this tournie, I can now try to get my army somewhat painted enough I hope. Is it that most people have yet had a chance to sign up at the den. it seems that there is a fair amount of interest. I know that I can not commit at this time I should know in a week or so.

verns' isn't pizza, its meat and sauce on a soggy strip of bread. Panago, Tj's, or Pizza 73 are the 3 good ones to order from in the city. if you're buying for a group, i'd say Tj's, cause its 2 for 1 pizzas so 2 large come out to $12 each, depending on which flavor you go for. pizza 73 has several good combo deals as well, like the 4pak right now, which is 2 pizzas, a box of wings, and an 10" chocolate chip cookie. that's $22. and Panago just has some of the best quality crust and ingredients. so it depends what you feel like.
Verns is the last pizza place i'd suggest. thats slop in a box that has to be eaten with forks, and you already know Darren hates when there's sloppy messy food in the back; anyone that's been there when he's closing and heard him when he sees the mess afterwards knows what im talking about.

I edited lunch into 50 mins. I think that should be enough, and I'll announce the scheduel at the start this time for clarity.

As for the sign up, For every tournament I've run in the past, most people signed up in the last 2 weeks, largely due to not knowing whether on not they coult commit time to the event.

And for the pizza lunch thing, If Darren's ok, we can make a pizza pool and order so that it shows up at lunch. (as long as we can agree on a restaurant)

And I just noticed, but this forum does not seem to have a spell-check built in... I wonder why that is? and could be fixed?
