Is it just me or do the Tau and Necron symbols look a little alike.... just sayin'.

either it's a conspiracy, and this explains how fast the Tau evolved in such a short period of time, OR........

GW needs more staff to work on their fluff and artwork, and keep them seperate from one another so they don't interbreed, i mean, share ideas. >.> Matt Ward.......

I agree.. considering how close they came out together, they really could of whipped up something fairly different.. they are pretty damn similar.

I took a little look at the original codexes. Both by the same crew (Chambers/McNeil/Haines/etc.) and were released almost exactly a year apart. The way I see it there are 2 possibilities.

1) It was intentional, either thru a linked back story or as a red herring, neither having been revealed yet.

2) Similar design elements worked in incidentally due to being worked on at the same time.

I imagine accidental, fluff wise.

Tau ethereals were created by the eldar (xenology), using scent control glands from an alien race. The tau exist without any warp presence, perfect for fighting chaos. Necrons and eldar are old un-friends, so logic dictates there should be no connection.

Whoever... O'shovah's dawn blade is rumoured to be a necron weapon... so...

I think all that eldar stuff is just to throw you off the scent that Tau are actually secret Necrons. I mean who other than shiny robots could have developed such an amazing battle suit that could attach and fire multiple weapons, obviously the answer is no one, therefore check and mate Tau = Necrons... WINNING!!!
