Tournament August 21st
Hey guys, I know its kind of short notice but to kick off the start of the new league I will be running a tournament at the den saturday august 21st starting at 10 am and going to 6 pm.
There will be 3 rounds of 1500 point matches and we can take up to 16 players. Entry fee will be $10. Sign up sheets and info sheets will show up at the den in the next couple of days.
Also, if everyone interested could post here to give us a good idea of how many people will be attending, that would be great.

Aw, damn! i totally would go, but thats my big move day to Toon Town! Guess I'll have to opt out of this one. Next time though, next time
On a related note, is the idea for the doubles tourney still being tossed around?

Re: Tournament August 21st
I need to know what missions we will be using and book restrictions - i.e., IA, allies with daemonhunters/witch hunters, etc. - before I'll give my say.
1 500 is a bit too low considering most of my armies don't function well at that level, but could always just do space marines.

Who puts on a tournament during folkfest? I mean really, how can I be playing 40k and drunk in 9 countries on the same day?
What a ridiculous idea.

Re: Tournament August 21st
My adaptability is fine, I just want to know what the missions are. If they're good, then I'll consider it. If they're not my game, well, I'm not up on spending $10 when I'm jobless and going into university =/HiveMindRuik wrote:

Ok, first off for the tournament I'm gonna say no to imperial armour. I don't know about the deamon hunters and witch hunters thing yet though, since I've never read the FAQ that came out about it so I don't know what the effects actually are on gameplay. If anybody could post a link to that FAQ I would be very grateful.
For the missions, I don't really intend to give out the details of the missions until the day of, sorry. I will tell you that I'm making the missions varied so each match type will hopefully be a different experience.

Alex - 1500 is b/c of time restrictions. The extra 500 pts adds a significant chunk of time when you're talking multiple games.
Also, can you post a link to the Witch/Daemon hunter stuff? I think someone did before, but I'm never able to find it, and when I try googling it I just find the old FAQ's.
Smackman- Drunken and NOT gaming? In Toon Town? SHAME!!!!

I figured as such - it's not a problem mind you, 1 500 is still within my comfort zone of playing. It just means less toys to blow people up with. lolJemal wrote:Alex - 1500 is b/c of time restrictions. The extra 500 pts adds a significant chunk of time when you're talking multiple games.
... it's not a question about adapting, just stop trying randythat says even more you cant adapt xD
As a side note I will be coming down and watching the tournament.

-1st Place (highest point total)
-2nd Place (second highest point total)
-3rd Place (third highest point total)
-Best Painted Army
-Best Sportsman
-Best General
-Door Prizes
I've also decided to give out the information on what kind of games the 3 rounds will have.
Round One:
Deployment: Pitched Battle
Rules: There are 5 objectives, 2 placed by each player 12" away from any other objective or board edge, and one in the exact center of the board. At the end of each game turn, players recieve 100 points for each objective they hold. Once the game reaches turn 5 and after, objectives become worth 200 points each. Most points wins.
Round Two:
Deployment: Dawn of War
Rules: Each player gets one objective in their deployment zone. Instead of nightfighting on the first turn, there will be a chance at the start of each turn after the first that night fighting will come into effect for the rest of the game. At turn 2, a roll of 6 starts nightfighting, and it decreases by one each turn thereafter (i.e. 5+ on turn 3, 4+ on turn 4 ect.)
Round Three:
Deployment: Spearhead
Rules: Each player nominates one of their HQ units as a general. In order to win, you must kill the other opponents general. In the event of a tie, kill points will be used. In the event of a tie with kill points, the game is a draw.
Lastly, game wins in the tournament will count towards the next league which will be starting up fairly soon.

Re: Tournament August 21st
so, 2 points per match means that there are 6 points awarded per player for a fully painted army (plus any points from being nominated)?
