Bucket of Fail
Well, the new Spearhead releases are on GW's advance order page.
The prism is no surprise. The second release, though, is just...fail. Support weapons? Really? The reason people don't buy those guns isn't because they are a semi-pewter model. People don't buy them because they are terrible rules-wise.
General thought: FAIL.

The Deathstrike Missle Launcher tank actually looks pretty neat.

Eldar fail, not IG fail. As you can see, I stated that the Deathstrike/Manticore thing was pretty slick.

Re Fail
Yes the IG stuff is kick ass. I hope Space Marines are going to get stuff to like maybe making the Thunderfire Cannon plastic... I don't think its a complete fail for the Eldar they still get an awesome Prism Cannon and a Night Spinner. But yes the Weapons Platform is a Bomb. Its like putting lip stick on a pig why would you do that.

I am about 99.99% sure that the rules for the night spinner will simply be like an old chapter approved article in the spearhead white dwarf. That codex won't likely be getting any love in the shape of a re-write for quite some time.

Re: Bucket of Fail
If I was an IG player right now I'd be drooling.
The Eldar stuff I could care less, I was never a fan of them anyway. However here's hoping the spacemarines get some love. I wouldn't mind adding some heavy weaponry to my heavy weaponry-less space wolves.

AlexAwsome = What Marine "Heavy-Weaponry" needs to be done or redone? I honestly can't think of anything that really needs an update. They have plastic heavy weapons and models for all their heavy support. And with a space wolf box set can be 'wolfed-up' appropriately.
And the Eldar stuff. I don't like Elves to begin with but why complain about an old weapons platform that gets some love. So what if they don't see much use. It's plastic now and looks ten times better with a dude actually using it. As well, since it's plastic, can be used for any conversions. If it was an ugly model, fine complain, but I don't see anything to complain about here.

Re: Bucket of Fail
I think the complaint is akin to "Why'd they put out new grotesque models for the DE" Sure the model itself getting an upgrade might be nice, but when the rules for it are so useless that no one will ever buy or play one other than Ironically, it makes one question why they didn't use the time to rebuild something eldar players might actually use. =/

FYI.. Those are Hemonculi greens done as test models by Juan Diaz in 2000! They are by no means new DE greens. Evidence is shown in that Dakka thread.
I used to complain.. What's the point. No one said Eldar players have to use it. Besides, I'm sure it was wicked easy for them to design and produce that instead of plastic aspects. To me it seems like a small bonus to the release. Nobody has told anybody that they HAVE to use it..

Re: Bucket of Fail
My main disappointment stems from the fact that many players on the Interwebz were hoping for a new jetbike sculpt. Apparently one has been kicking around for a few years that has a bit more detail (mainly on the generic rider, making him match more of the current Eldar aesthetic). A close second would have been plastic Wraithguard that don't cost 20$ a model. Instead....weapons platforms. Just a little...disappointing...I guess.
But over-all, w/e. I like the new Prism, and will be grabbing some. That and magnets should make them intechangeable as Prism/Nightspinner, should the 'Spinner rules turn out ok.

True. It would have been really cool to have seen a new jetbike (current ones are probably close to 15 years old). But don't take your frustration out on the poor platform . Looking at the model, I think they did a great job (even though it is elves).
Night spinner for epic 40k was the ultimate in anti-infantry. If it stays true to its roots it will probably be ordanance template AP 3 and (possibly ignore cover as well)
