Frag Grenades

Say you have an independent character w/ Frag grenades or the equiv. and he joins a unit WITHOUT frags.

When the unit assaults something, do they count as having frag grenades?

I remember they used to have a ruling on this, but since mid 4th it's been a moot point (since practically every unit has frags)

Pretty sure it's on a model by model basis. It's wargear, not a USR.

That's what I was thinking, but a brain-fart got in the way.

I think I was confusing them with Crusader Seals (I was playing with a BT list to pass the time waiting to see who threw up next @ the house.)
