~Hygiene at the den~
First off, this is not a rant or me laying any blame on anyone. This is a notice from me, and also from Darren (for you who don't know Darren, he owns Dragon's Den).
On Wensday, there was a very noticeable smell of BO in the back. It was extremely strong, and I have to say, it made me not want to be back there. Many other long time den vets also communicated the sentiment. After my game, I had a short chat with Darren, and he agreed that such bodily odors are unacceptable.
The back of the Den is a place to have fun and get together, and we don't want to drive out anyone from the smell!
So I am am asking everyone who visits this board, and for all our new players as well, (and I shouldn't have to say this but still...):
Bathing and Deoderant are a REQUIREMENT when playing on the back tables.
Thanks guys, I know we would all really appreciate this rule being followed, and Darren has requested this as well, he may put up signs, but I'm sure we all don't need those.

Re: ~Hygiene at the den~
Thanks for posting this up Paz. Last week was really bad as well, and it didn't help that the temperature was up. I was hoping it was a freak occurence last week because it was warm.. but I guess that wasn't the case.
Alrighty then, let's straighten this up fellas. It's bad enough that gamers already have the stigma of having a fear of soap and water, let's not do our part to reinforce this.

It's always sad when this becomes an issue. I had to give this talk at my store a few times. Bodies change when guys hit a certain age. Don't get offended perpetrators, just get some deodorant. Oh, and use the deodorant.

That's too bad about your assault squad Dana.
But rather then the game performance of your newest troops I think the post was meant more to be a critiscism of how bad your horribly shaped body ACTUALLY smelled. Next time you have a game try not to spend the afternoon rolling around in your own feces and eating a bowl or garlic 'n puke just before go time please.
And better luck on your assault squad next time. Do you have enough plasma pistols in your unit to make them effective against some of the tougher troops you might have to pit them up against? Maybe that will help.
Regards,
Scott

Don't let dem trick ya lads! Washin's fer elves!
It must have been crazy bad to warrant a thread post. If it was indeed this bad, I'd have just called the Ghostbusters. That kind of powerful stink would for sure show on the PKE meters. Anyway, I hope this issue is resolved by the time I make my grand debut at the Den, or at least we have the back hosed down with a pleasant smell, such as gasoline, or sauerkraut.

I hate that I have to ONCE AGAIN speak up about this, but this problem is still ongoing. I think the people who are responsible know who they are, please, for the wellbeing and friendliness of our gaming group, respect other people and wear deoderant.

Re: ~Hygiene at the den~
The funk is back.. Darren and Al have both talked to me about this.. Im sure the 30 degree weather and all the guys in one room didn't help out.. but Im sure it wouldnt of been a problem if people would take a couple minutes to think about it first. I have my dice, my models, books and stink check.. k, grab the deodorant.
Dudes/dude/whoever.. come on. I dont want to be the guy who asks someone to stop coming because of odour.. thats not only weird, but pretty embarassing.
We'll consider this the last warning. Three strikes and we'll have to ask you move away from playing Wed. nights.

Yeah, I was only there for a few minutes to pay for my Forgeworld stuff and buy a Dreadnought, but my brief foray has me reconsidering getting into 40k.

I have absolutely no problem calling people out. IF the stink continues, you can expect a public humiliation at my hands. This may not be the most tactful thing to do, but for =I=censor=I= sakes, it is extremely inconsiderate to subject the rest of the gaming group to this kind of =I=censor=I=. I really hate inconsiderate people.

Don't step around the subject Cam, why don't you say what you really mean..

Re: ~Hygiene at the den~
Having been away from the hobby for a good half year, and coming back to the Den on Wednesday to put in my Forgeworld order, I was literally almost knocked on my butt with how bad the smell of BO was.. I am glad this subject was written, as its good that it wasn't "just me" noticing it.
Please, as everyone else is saying, proper Hygiene is a must, if you are going ANYWHERE public.
Lets not pollute our hobby.
Matt

i agree if people still continue to be unhygienic, we will have too start to point fingers.
