40k radio world wide war
Anyone else listen to 40k radio? I'm listening to the idea of the world wide war and it sounds interesting. Just giving a nudge in case anyone else is interested.

A world war sounds pretty fun actually. Though I'd think it would be a pain to administer eh?
Oh, and a skull means you've posted in the topic.

the world wide war
The site just came up. Looks like we would have to register the den as one of the Host locations if we wanna participate. 10 players seems to be the minimum in order to sign up.

It would be a fun thing to participate in, however.. you have to order the starter package from 40K radio to register. It's $210 US to order it.

update
Ok the 210$ needed some further investigation. So the way it works is that whoever is hosting the event gets the starter package which has supplies to run a 10m tournament with each participant paying 25$ which goes to whoever supplied the starter package.

The further Clarify, from my own understanding of it.
Dragons Den would have to host it, therefor paying 210 dollars to 40K radio, and then getting the necessary "things" to run a 10 person tourney in the mail. Once the Den does this, the players sign up, each paying 25.00 to the host (dragons den) who will then be able to keep the earnings for "hosting" the event. Yes, that means the Den would make a 40 dollar profit (excluding taxes, duties, and American exchange rates). Then in September when the event goes live, we all gather at the Den and follow the tournament rules laid out, and reporting, etc.
So really, though we would have to get the sponsor to do this, it would actually pay off and yield a profit for the host the more people show up.
How many full sized, terrain populated tables can the Den support if we were to get the whole back room? 6? 7? assuming we can rally 14 players, we could actually have a decent tourney, and then the winners are judged and compared as per the 40K radio. I have not listened to the 40k radio in a while, so if some of my descriptions here are off, then im sorry.
Matt.

40k
thats about it in a nutshell. scores from games are judged and the scores are submitted to 40k radio. the top winner gets 1000$ of games workshop stuff (their choice as to what) and the top freeboota (40k forum member) gets 500$ of GW stuff. if they get more than 100 sign ups they will increase it for more prizes.

Not 100% sure but i think its just a 1 day event. Each person in the tourney plays 3 games or something, and ya...
