So I figured starting a blog might help keep me motivated to get working on my Space Elves (which most of you know have been unfinished for quite some time now). I recently took steps and removed the crew from all the Raiders and Ravagers to paint separately and had to do some surgery on the boats to replace some broken bits before proceeding with a respray.



Surgery completed on all boats. Just need to find some time to spray some black at them.

Sorry guys, still no painting, but I did start working on my "Dark Aspect Host". It will consist of 10 Dark Hawks (proxied as scourges) and two groups of 5 Dark Scorpions. The first 2 Scorpion exarchs are almost done. Just need to fashion them both a sinister looking claw. Enjoy!

A little more progress on the Eldar side of things. Just need claws for the Exarchs but these are my Dark Scorpions.

I don't know the DE book at all. When you say dark scorpions does that mean striking scorpions from the elder book, but done with DE models?

Correct. I used the bodies from the Black Ark Corsairs box with weapons from the Dark Eldar Warriors box to make Trueborn and since I had all those swords and crossbows left over, I combined it with another box of Warriors to make the Dark Eldar version of the striking scorpions. They'll go with Scourges I'll be running as Swooping Hawks to make an Aspect Host formation.

I've done it. I've finally put paint on models. No more grey on the boats is a start but the actual colour is soon to go on.

Sweet Christmas, that is some good looking primer. Now just a little colour around the edges and your set! Looks like your timing is good too, last I heard the eldar are getting together for a big old slap fight with the mother of all darkness. End times = Good times.

Finished up the claws on my dark scorpion exarchs. Still feel like the arms could use a little something but what I'm going to do I'm not quite sure.

If your taking suggestions, maybe running a power cable or two from the claws up to the backpack? I have a whole bag of pewter ribbed power cables and I could part with a few if you wanted to go that route. They look sort of like the old guitar wire, but are soft and bendy.

Pascal suggested the same thing, I just don't have any of that cable. I'd love some if you're willing to part with a bit.

Converted myself up a Succubus last night with my remaining dark arc corsairs cape so she fits in with my Archon and Trueborn. Pretty happy with the result.
