Farsight wishlisting

I plan on getting Montka anyways for my guard, and Farsight Tau would likely be the next army I'd think about collecting so.....

HQ- I'd think one of the FW HQs, or one of the eight (they are basically a specific load out of commanders right? Except one is a Riptide and one is a Broadside?) The Buff mander isn't a choice because you can't get the Sig Systems, correct?

E- Riptides, Ghostkeel or Stealth Suits

T-XV8's. I'm thinking 3x4 man squads

FA- XV9s, XV109, Barracuda or Remoras. FW rox my balls. Also most likely spot to be cut.

HS- XV88 and/or XV107.

The Farsight Cadre lets you take a Retribution Cadre as a Core no?

How would y'all kit this out? I'm thinking Retribution Cadre core and either the Fire Support or Stealth cadres as backup. (And there would be enough there to do CAD regardless)

The 3 Riptide Formation looks good too.

Yep, the major downside to the Farsight Cadre I'm seeing is losing ObSec on the XV8's. Just take a CAD with the Commander, and the XV8s, add the formations you want and wait for the boom.

I'd probably start with something similar to what you posted last year.

Curious as to whether they are tweaking the relics, since most of the ones you can't take with Farsight are available on the eight.

I don't have the book, but apparently it can also work like the old farsight book, where you can take a CAD and the XV88's count as troops.

I can tell you right now, you won't get much play with these guys.

3 riptides in a squad is about as much fun as playing against eldar bike spam or wraithknights

Nothing . cuz the formation has networked reactors and you get to re-roll failed nova attempts.

and.. once per game you get to remove your opponents army from the table... er i mean shoot every gun twice instead of once. which stacks with Ripple Fire, so you shoot 4 times...

Luckily ripple fire only applies to the secondary weapon, so either a TL SMS, TL plasma rifle, or TL fusion blaster.

One of the Riptides and 2 of the XV88 units are a detachment. The remainder can be a CAD or a Retaliation Cadre, depending on what kind of jank I feel like.

And yes, that's a commander built as bright sword, one of the ruptures is ogres w/o his drones, and one of the broadside is oblitor9 or whatever his name is w/o his drones.

Plan would be lots of magnets, so I could convert to the Eight for stupid fun.
