Wednesday night game

Looking for a games Wednesday, preferably starting at 6.

Would prefer 1750, but I've got a 1500 or 2000 list as well.

Open to 750 or 1000 doubles.

There were no 40k players last night at the den except me but that was expected since it was pretty short notice on change of day, hopefully this next wednesday will be better!

Superclose, tight game that I would have lost had it ended on 5 and likely would've lost if it had gone 7. 9-8 with Ian picking up both First blood and Slay the Warlord.

Rules we got wrong: nothing to stop you from jinking Overwatch hits, correct?

Armor vs jinking vs invul: player choice? All the BRB says is you only ever get one, but its in your interest to take the *best* save. Issue came up due to 3+ armor vs 4+ rerollable Ravenwing jink. (Ian and I pretty much agree on this, I just wanted everyone else's take).

Strafing Run doesn't work on skimmers?

Dem Dark Lances! Holy. By the end of the game he'd killed my Libby, both LasBacks, one rhino, one dread, both preds, and my RW squad. The one dread and one rhino I had left each were damaged. Out of 30 Marines, 11 made it out.

I can't tell if I play bikes bad, or I'm having bad matchups for them.

Nephilim is awesome. It and the dreads are easily my MVPs.

Ian's list is a horrible matchup for bikes. The only upside is they have jink vs his Dark Lances. But his whole army ignores the fact that they are T5, which is normally a big deal.

I thought you were required to take your *best* save. In this case I would argue that obviously the 4+ re-roll is the best save (since it gives the best chances to make the most).

I would assume that Jinks are allowed vs overwatch. Biggest problem with overwatch is the vauge lines especially "and so on...".

Would have to re-read Strafing Run. Not a rule I am familiar with.

Are you using the Neph as a Neph or a Storm Talon?

Strafing Run: When shooting assault, heavy, rapid fire, or salvo the shooter gains pinning. Also, if the target is Artillery, Beast, Bike, Cavalry, Infantry, Monstrous Creatures and any non-flyer/non-skimmer vehicles, gains +1 BS

It doesn't even say "take your best save" which is vague at best.

Ok the other matchup was versus Grav heavy Iron hands.

Neph as a neph! 6 shots all twinlinked, hitting on 2s with strafing run! 1 LasC and 1 HB, with 2 blackswords (*S7, AP3 missiles). But AV11, 3hp, and a rerollable jink make it nasty. All for 175pts. I've test run a few lists with 2 of em.

Ah so it would be BS4 vs the skimmers. Missed that they have pinning tho.

I thought skimmers weren't on that list. Oh well, it only came up once I think.

My BIG question.... What if I hadn't forgotten to charge with that RW squad?

The Raider become mini Ravagers, especially if you just pivot or don't move. The only reason that one rhino lived was he hid the whole time.

Same thing as if I had jinked on your overwatch and managed to kill that dreadnought with caltrops. We'll never know...

That's why there's always a rematch....

Oh you're on. I could always use more practice with my CommComp list.
