League interest

Heyo... just wanted to getba feel how league interest is sitting right now. 

Seems there hasn't been a lot of chatter, games being played.. or even sales happening to much down at the den. The summer was slow .. actually ever since the new edition came out its been slow.. me included. 

Personally.. i know i've been fine taking a break from 40k. New editioms, new books.. formations, dataslates, etc. Seemed like a lot to keep on. 

If enough people are game.. i can get the league rolling right away here so we can wrap up before christmas. If everyones been enjoying exploring other things/games, that's also cool. It'd be nice to.keep up the chatter though so if there is a topic you want to post about.. gaming related but not 40k.. thats a-ok.

Right now for me I am not disinterested in 40k per se, but I do not have enough free time for games.

Also for me leagues are rather meh. I will play games if there is or isn't one. Winning the league almost tends to be more hassle than anything. Having to drive to the city each weekend basically for 1-3 weeks is blah.

Reasons why myself and Tom have been pushing for a league end game day the past few leagues, where we just do all the games as a single elimination tourney, with anyone not advancing having the option of spectating and/or grabbing a beer.

I've just been busy with work and stuff lately. I'd like to get more games in too.

I'm rather in favor of a games day tourney to end of a league. Make it 2-3 after league ends, if you can't make it, you're out/replaced.

This is the first ive heard of the league end game days, but super easy to implement. It would work better for me in the long run anyway.  

As for having a leaguengoing vs. not..  there have been periods in the past where a league wasn't running for a chunk of time.. and no games get played at all. It works if you have a few buddies you like playing with and can organize games.. but for.sales and new interest... there becomes nothing. 

But.. i might just hold off for a bit since i haven't been playing much anyway.

I actually have some extra time these days to play in a league. I've noticed there does tend to be a lull for our crew in the late summer, all you family guys doing family things. I totally dig 7th, no big issues here for me in that regards. Frankly, I feel we should do another in the near future, as, um, well, certain players who shall remain nameless but we know who those are don't play anymore.....which may result in a more fun and relaxed league.

It is something Planes and I gripe about every once in a while. I don't think we've made an actual request for it yet.

Sounds good.. consider it done. We'll try to schedule playoffs for one day. 

Yeah, it seems that alot of trouble makers have moved on... in some cases back to their home provinces of Quebec. I took the liberty of deleting Adam's account when i heard the news. He did a good job of ostracizing himself from every group he was involved in, not just 40k. 

I guess the city is just filled with a bunch of jew haters.

League with some campaign type stuff would be cool, even if its just keeping the same codex.

I would be In but im personally busy ATM. after the first week of October I would have time

summer was tough, harvest is still tough. october should be easier. going to school nights this fall so i lose a couple more days a week than i had free before, which was none.

I'm much more available during weekdays when i can skip away from work for a few hours unnoticed. Though not many unemployed folks to play against in that timeslot.

Generally having a tourney to look forward to makes guys want to play more games, we sort of slingshot from one event to another.

I've never played in a league before or at the den for that matter but I'd definitely be interested in a league setting. Might get more games in with a schedule than the randomness of my gaming group.

We could probably integrate some Dragonis shenanigans into the mix with a minimal amount of fuss, I think. Even just a basic "which faction won the most games" sort of thing.

Ill post up the rough format i was presented with. It requires ganes on three different weekends.. but might be able to work something out.

Well having specific weekends in advance does make it quite a bit easier for me. If I can plan them in advance with the wife tends to work out a bit better. Hence why I can generally make tournaments, but struggle with "regular" games.
