Dragonis Incursion Results
Here are the results of the Dragonis Incursion in both numerical and narrative format.

In the haste to leave the Den, some scores were tallied incorrectly. After recalculating the results, Beau should have won Saint of Dragonis and Dallas should have "won" last place. I take full responsibility for this error.
To correct this, Beau shall receive $30 and Dallas $5 in financial recompense (PM me details on the best way to accommodate). Mike S incorrectly received the award through no fault of his own and is entitled to retain the prize money. The title for "Saint of Dragonis", however, is in dispute. Beau and Mike S should play a game to settle this matter honourably.
In this thread, please post your comments on how the game day was run. What did you like, what would you like done differently. We are all adults with egos of varying durability, but we should do fine.

I'd love to hear how the games on the turret table went.

Very well organized and run event. The fluff and rules preperation was fantastic and you yourself have a flair for the dramatic, i predict a future in Politics or performance.
Pretty much everyone had an opinion on pre-selected psychic powers. many will say that it is invisbility only that is an issue, but i can think of several powers from both biomancy and Santic that i could very easily write a list to abuse as well i understand that time is enemy and that this is why this was given as an option. May i suggest just requiring a player interested in using psychic powers will be required to show up with a card deck (purchased or home made) as these considerably speed up the random process.
I very much enjoy the idea of multiple pre-set scenarios and tables and indeed it is one of the reasons i also enjoy astronomicon tournaments. Also, pre-setting rules for terrain so that the questions can be answered quickly during games is fantastic and well appreciated.
I know i joked about doing this every 2 months, but perhaps it could be done quarterly. With a plaque or trophy or... Crown for the savior/Tyrant of Dragonis. Seems a waste to have that much fluff go to waste on a single, and popular, Event. The format is one that people like. You will always get more turnout for "nerfed" tournaments. Single FoC, Highlander, no LoW, etc. The gonzo stuff scares away people and isn't as much fun for certain players.

I dunno.
I may have had a shot at 2nd if I didn't perils on casting Invisibility on turn 1 in round 3, rolling a 1, and failing my LD test and taking 3 wounds on my mutilator unit and dropping my sorcerer.
Ivisibility's good and all, but only if you succeed in casting it.

This.
Also agree with the whole psychic power thing. If I was going to be a tool I'd still choose my 2++/re-roll draigostar over invisibility.

Re: Dragonis Incursion Results
Psychic powers are a tricky issue. It poses a similar problem that Draigostars pose and the twin lash daemon princes of yore. We are hesitant to start making exceptions and hard restrictions for otherwise legal units and combinations, yet something must be done.
Otherwise, I'm glad the effort we put in was appreciated. I had a lot of fun running it, which was doubled when everyone else had fun too.
Sequel is a good choice of words, as we do intend to continue the narrative established from this tournament. It may be many months, but a squeal is in the works.
