Lord of the Warp - Feb 7th
I better get my event posted up here, Tom's already got his plans ready for the Match event.
Lord of the Warp - Feb 7th
We've had a good run of bigger point events so I thought I'd do something a bit different. I used to run these Friday night events fairly regularly in the past, usually at the start of a new league to hit the ground running. So, that's what I'm planning this time around.
It'll be a lower points event (1000), and played Friday night at the den. We'll start at 7 and go until as late as needed, or midnight, whichever comes first.
We have the back four tables at the den reserved, and will probably run on 4x4 tables for space. Of course we'll spread out if we get 8 or less people.
All games will of course count towards league points. I'll probably start the league the week before this, but it will still give a good boost to the opening.
It will be standard force org. All the regular list building rules are in effect. The only thing that will not be allowed are D weapons, Super Heavies, or formations, although I'm sure it would be impossible to get them into a 1000 point list anyway. Codex lists, FW, Fortifications, dataslates, are all fair game.
Entry will be $10 nad we'll have a few unique prizes.. and possibly.. a .. QUIZ !!
Any questions/concerns, let me know. If anyone can think of something goofy that might arise from the above parameters, also bring it up. I'll get the missions done up shortly, but I can say this, it will be favoured towards scoring units.

Dammit, I didn't even think of St. Valentine the Life Ruiner's day of recognition. I may not be available for this one either.

If I have the day off, I'd like to break out the new Nids.
I won't know until 24 hours before though. Being on call sucks.

Re: Lord of the Warp - Feb 7th
Just a quick reminder the Lord of the Warp 1000 point league kick off event is this friday.
I'm going to put up a quick poll to guage numbers. Its mot.a commitment, i just want.to.make sure we dont go over our 16 player alotment. I want to keep things pretty relaxed and open so was trying.to avoid a sign up sheet. Thats still the.pln.. unless we go over our number then we'll figure something else out.

Re: Lord of the Warp - Feb 7th
Just a quick synopsis for tonight.
Things are going to be pretty casual tonight, but we'll still havbe the standard "scores" for the games. Battle points, sportsmanship and painting. The focus will be primarily on Battle points (8 for a win) with sportsmanship worth 2 per game, and painting being judged for a total out of 8 for the event.
Entry is $10. We'll try to start right at 7 so we can be done in time. We'll be playing on 4x4 tables and three games.
I think that covers all of it. There should be no big surprises with the scenarios. A few objective style missions with a special rule of some sort and there will be an old stlye victory points mission.
For those unaware of victory points, bascially, you score victory points based on units you have destroyed of your enemies. If you kill his Land Raider and its worth 240 points, you score 240 points. Immobilized vehicles and units below half strength are worth half victory points. Kill points replaced the old victory point mainly becasue calculation could get cumbersome. But, for one game at a small point value, I think it could be fun to resurrect it.
Ill be checking here throughout the day so if anyone has questions, let me know. Otherwise we'll see you guys tonight at 7 sharp!
