Summer league playoffs!
Ok game fans, here are the play-off match-ups. I drew randomly for both match-ups and pool placement.
Pool "I Pity the Fool"
Tyson/Darsfear (1805) vs. Dallas/Superdeauxlol (1715)
Adam/Canadin (1730) vs. Mark/Lore Weaver (1790
Pool "There is no Dana, only Zuul"
Andrew/Daemonkin (1700) vs. Tom/Planes (1775)
Dan/Dabear (1745) vs. Beau/Roland (1760)
Same rules apply as previous play-offs. Codex books only are allowed, no Forgeworld. Supplements and allies are of course fine. You make one list and use throughout the entire play-offs. Your points are derived from where you finished in the league, and are shown in brakets just above. Bring a list to your game !
The play-off scenarios for the first two round are located below. The final scenrio play-off will be posted in a bit. I'm keeping it a bit of a surprise this time around so you'll have to do a bit of planning for the unexpected. If you keep your list fairly balanced though, you'll be in good shape.
If everyone can post what army they are playing below, that would be great.
Mission 1
Deployment – Vanguard Strike
Primary – Objectives. One objective is placed in the middle of each table quarter, and one in the middle of the table. Each objective is worth 3 vp.
Secondary - Slay the Warlord and Line Breaker are each worth 1 vp. You also receive 1vp if you destroy you opponents highest cost single unit (Ex: Landraider, Bloodthirster, 20 Grey Knights, etc.)
Tiebreaker – If there is a tie, calculate kill points. If this is tied, whoever finished higher in the league wins.
Mission 2
Deployment – Hammer and Anvil
Primary – There is one objective in each player’s deployment zone (roll to place after deployment zones have been chosen) worth 3 vp. It must be at least 12" away from each board edge, and at least 12" away from the middle of the table. There is also an objective in the middle table which functions exactly the same as the Relic (can be moved, etc.) worth 5 vp.
Slay the Warlord, LInebreaker, and Random (Roll 1d6, on a 1-2 Fast attack are scoring and worth 1 vp each if destroyed/fleeing, 3-4 Heavy Support are scoring and worth 1 vp each if destroyed/fleeing, 5-6 Elites are scoring and worth 1 each if destroyed/fleeing)
Tiebreaker – If there is a tie, calculate kill points. If this is tied, whoever finished higher in the league wins.
Any questions, let me know !

Re: Summer league playoffs!
Just a thought that might make everything easier and faster, with less table set up and transit time and all that jazz. Would there be any chance for all 8 of us to be down at the Den on, say, October 5th, and just blitz through all three brackets of games in one day? Anyone eliminated can spectate/cheer/heckle/peanut gallery those who advance, and then we could hit up Boston Pizza or some such at the end. With myself currently living out of town, this option would be rather appealing to me for road time and gas money alone, but I think everyone else would appreciate only having to block out one day of schedule instead of three.

Would a Friday night work, then? The Den is open exceedingly late on Friday Night.

I'll be playing janky-Crons that I've been having fun with.
Adam, I think Sunday might work for me. What's your schedule like?

Re: Summer league playoffs!
Andrew, what days work for you in the near future? I can't really do anything prior to Sunday, but I should be good for that day and beyond for the foreseeable future. Well, unless on Friday they jump me and tell me I have a job, in which case Weekends would generally be good for me.
Also, Mark, I'd like to compare our ideas of "jank Crons" against each other at some point.

After playing against marks list and what I assume is your list Tom, I feel as though that would be an awesome match to watch.

Re: Summer league playoffs!
Oh, the Flayed One list was great fun, but Dark Harvest runs under the purview of Forge World. The beastie of a list I have whipped up is pure base codex.

Re: Summer league playoffs!
I'm not full on silly Dallas, I'm running Lychguard. Although Flayed ones are appealing. It's tough to get a res orb in that unit though. Lychguard can add a foot lord, and the scatter hasn't boned me yet.superdeuxlol wrote:That Flayed one list I played against. I liked that list.
