oh man.
Killer Tip 3: You can create cover saves for your enemy's models. Just as experienced players block their own unit's line of sight using vehicles in order to prevent shots going into undesirable targets, you can also use your own intervening models from other squads to give cover saves to some models in enemy units – for example, using Grey Hunters to give a Tau Iridium Commander a 5+ save from your Long Fangs means with focus fire all the missiles will go in to the Crisis Suits behind him.

@ Mark, make sure that you read Abusepuppy's comments, 2+ cover is possible in ruins, just a little harder. I think the way most people have been playing it is correct?
@ Mike's quote - nasty stuff. Kinda glad I still don't run my shield'o anymore.

Interesting article,
I dont like the one about intentionally screening opponent tanky models. I turbo boost my windriders in front of iridium commander, proceed to shoot reapers with S8 focus fire onto bodyguards.... Without checking the rules, I think he is correct in the matter.
As for the ruins 2+ thing, I think I would agree to that. What do people think about agreeing to that classification? Either you are taking a 4+ with a +1, or a 5+ with a +2

I went to use the trick once, but earlier shooting in the round made the attempt moot.

don't think its up for debate after reading the actual rules
"Area Ruins" is something us players made up.
that being said... every time we look at stuff like this, games get longer. doing everything on a per model basis really bogs down a game.

Exactly. This is what Abusepuppy pointed out in his comments.
As for the whole sniping characters/squad members out with different cover saves it sounds a lot easier than it actually is. Still something to be aware of I guess.
