Grey Knights Starter List
Since its a rainy day I went through all the random grey knight stuff I have laying around and made a list.
I want to make a Grey Knights army as my next army after my space wolves are done so some time in the next 2-3 years. I made this list out of the stuff I have kicking around and hoping it would be a great way to get feed back and advice so i can plan out a 1500 - 1750 and a 2000 point lists.
So this is what I have came up with so far
HQ
Librarian - 150
-Halberd - 5
Total = 155
Elites
Techmarine - 90
-Conversion Beamer - 20
= 111
Troops
Terminator Squad x5 - 200
Psy Cannon - 25
Psy Bolt Ammo - 20
Nemesis Hammer x2 - 0
Nemesis Halberd x3 - 0
= 245
Terminator Squad x5 - 200
Psy Cannon - 25
Psy Bolt Ammo - 20
Nemesis Hammer x2 - 0
Nemesis Halberd x3 - 0
= 245
Heavy Support
Dreadnaught - 115
Auto Cannon - 10
Auto Cannon - 5
Ssy Bolt Ammo - 5
=135
Dread Knight - 130
Heavy Psy Cannon - 40
Nemesis Great Sword - 35
= 195
Land Raider - 155
Multi Melta - 10
=165
Total = 1351
Thats what I have so far. The Techmarine is pretty useless unless but I have 3 figs kicking around and would like to use one of them. I would like to add in a strike squad or two for holding back field objectives. I have no idea if the dread knight load out is the way to go or not?
So if there it is ANY advice or suggestions on where to take this list or to alter it please feel free to post up!

Re: Grey Knights Starter List
The Heavy Psycannon is alright, being just shy of a large blast Plasma Cannon, but with what rules 6th currently has, I'm more partial to the Heavy Incinerator, as it does not scatter, and provides reliable overwatch. The sword is decent if you have the points for it, as it swings at Str 10 with the reroll to top it off.
On the topic of Tech Marines, if you're going to run one with that kind of range on it, I'd recommend pairing it with something that either augments it's shooting capacity (the one time I'd ever see myself recommending a Purgation Squad) or with a squad that compliments it's range (grab and Inquisitor and make a long range shooty warband). In either case, I would highly recommend having someone in that squad with rolls on divination, preferably two rolls or more. If you go with the Purgation route, you can pop Astral Aim to not have to worry about line of sight blockers or max range forced by Night Fighting in exchange for an modifiable 4+ cover save. With two or more rolls on Divination (basic Librarian can do this, or a still reasonably priced Inquisitor) you can grab yourself Prescience and a decent chance of getting Perfect Timing, which confers the Ignores Cover special rule, circumventing the very cover save you gave the target in the first place. Alternately, going the warband route, some monkeys and servitors can give you some solid range with which to make it so that it's not just the Conversion Beamer you are threatening your target with, but possibly some laser guided affection. Nothing quite says "thanks for that first blood" like a Str 10, AP 1 small blast paired with some Las Cannons, all with a re-roll to hit.
Aside from that, your troop base looks solid for sitting around 1300~ points, and a teched out strike squad would put you up to about 1600. Mix of halberds and hammers is good, too, as the halberds make it more likely against most things for your hammers to get a swing in melee. GK Dreads are just straight up awesome psychic defense.

Erm I think land raiders are more than 165 points
Other than that I think Tom has some good pointers having played GK for a while now. The biggest thing is right now you have a lot of toys and not very many scoring bodies. 6th edition is almost always about objectives (with only 1 KP mission) and to take objectives you need scoring bodies. A good first turn from a lot of the more shooty armies very well might cripple your two Terminator squads.
I will also second the Heavy Incinerator on the Dreadknight. As a xenos player it is one of the worst things coming across the board. With it you can fairly handily erase objective holding squads each turn.

In a world populated with Wraith Knights and Riptides, S10 is a good tool to have in the tool box.

I noticed that as well, but when I tallied up his list against the book, the only thing out of place for the final count was the extra point from the Tech Marine, both of which I am guessing are simple typos.

Re: Grey Knights Starter List
I used a techmarine quite a bit when the book first came out.. And loved plunking him in a crusader with some assassins and crusaders and just givng.him the grenade options. He could repair the raider and almost ensure an assault victory.
Which leads me to the land raider crusader. For grey knights.. It might even be a better option. You can make your assault cannon str 7 and your hurricane bolters str 5.
Ive only used the dreadknight twce.. Both times only with a sword.. Although id prob go the incinerator route if.i did take it.
I always find points really hard to come by with grey knights.. And as such tend to pack on strike squads and terminators. Ill typcialy either take coteaz with a second cheap inquisitor to.overload on shooting.. Or perhaps beef things up with a grandmaster woth psycannon and sword (3+ invul in combat) . Coteaz is great by.himself.. But being to take a 12 point scoring unit.. Crazy.
I do like having a mix of weapons with the terms.. Its a good base otherwise. Ive never used a librarian but id start with a halberd and a chunk of psychic powers to start.

A Libby with a Nemesis Force Staff is a beast in challenges, just saying.

I was looking at that option too but I found the list lacked in melta or high strength long range guns so i thought that just a normal land raider would help with that. But a crusader would be a lot of fun to use.
