Play-off Missions - Spring Edition
Mission 1
Deployment – Vanguard Strike
Primary – Objectives. One objective is placed in the middle of each table quarter, and one in the middle of the table. Each objective is worth 3 vp.
Secondary - Slay the Warlord and Line Breaker are each worth 1 vp. You also receive 1vp if you destroy you opponents highest cost single unit (Ex: Landraider, Bloodthirster, 20 Grey Knights, etc.)
Tiebreaker – If there is a tie, calculate kill points. If this is tied, whoever finished higher in the league wins.
Mission 2
Deployment – Hammer and Anvil
Primary – There is one objective in each player’s deployment zone (roll to place after deployment zones have been chosen) worth 3 vp. It must be at least 12" away from each board edge, and at least 12" away from the middle of the table. There is also an objective in the middle table which functions exactly the same as the Relic (can be moved, etc.) worth 5 vp.
Slay the Warlord, LInebreaker, and Random (Roll 1d6, on a 1-2 Fast attack are scoring and worth 1 vp each if destroyed/fleeing, 3-4 Heavy Support are scoring and worth 1 vp each if destroyed/fleeing, 5-6 Elites are scoring and worth 1 each if destroyed/fleeing)
Tiebreaker – If there is a tie, calculate kill points. If this is tied, whoever finished higher in the league wins.
Mission 3
Deployment – Dawn of War
Primary – Kill points. Each unit destroyed or fleeing at the end of the game is worth 1vp.
Secondary - Slay the Warlord and Line Breaker are each worth 1 vp. You also receive a bonus 1vp if you destroy all of your opponents scoring units.
Tiebreaker – Slay the Warlord. If your tied on kill points, who ever achieved this secondary objective wins the match. If you were also tied on this, whoever finished higher in the league wins.
In every Mission:
- Roll for deployment zones
- Whoever picks first deploys their fortification first (if they have one)
- Roll for Warlord trait by first choosing which chart your rolling on (Codex or Rulebook) and then rolling the dice. If choosing from your codex, roll stands as is. If from the rulebook, you can choose based on your dice roll from any of three columns
- Roll for Daemonic Gifts
- Roll for Psychic Powers
- Roll off to see who selects to deploy first and go first.
- Roll for nightfight, then deploy as normal.
Mysterious Objectives will not be used.

Re: Play-off Missions - Spring Edition
Let me know if there are any questions of clarifications.
The most inmportant note is that there is no First Blood secondary objective AND no mysterious objectives.
As well, please post what army you are playing for the playoffs. As usual, I encourage people to play the army they used most throughout the league.
I can surmise from trends the following at least :
Mike B : Chaos - Chaos/Guard?
Trevor : Chaos
Tom : Necrons or Necrons/GK
Dan : Space Wolves
Andrew: Imperial Guard
Mike S : Dark Angels
Adam : Chaos/Guard, Chaos/Daemons, Chaos
Mark : Chaos or Chaos/Daemons
If there are any corrections to the above list, let me know. I know people played a bunch of different things time around.
Ok folks, let's see some Rhinos!

Re: Play-off Missions - Spring Edition
since this doesnt happen very often in peoples lists, and it deals with one of the secondary objectives, i figured i'd ask how you wanna rule on this robyn;
we get 1 VP for killing the highest point-cost unit in the opponent's army; what if the highest cost unit happens to be 3 identical squadrons? do we get the point for the first one that falls, a point for each of the identical units, or not until all 3 are dead since they all cost the same? it know this rarely happens in most people's lists, so i figured i'd ask how we should play that.

I was gonna put a clarification in as well, but then forgot to add it. Thanks for brining it up.
The controlling player can nominate which of the "tied" units will be his most expensive. He can either pick one, or just roll before everything else. Just one point will be eligible though.

No First Blood !
I know from my perspective it really alters my lists... want to see if it does so for anyone else.

Re: Play-off Missions - Spring Edition
changes an entire meta to not have to worry about it. lot of games are decided by that one point.
