Hmmm interesting thanks for the heads up. Almost want to put my purifier/ GK air force project on hold for a year to play DA.

The new DA rumours are getting scary.

Actually.. I dont mind the sound.of any of it.. Except for Belial. 2+ invul with eternal warrior, his unit also gets heroic.intervention.. yikes. A character with a 2+ save and 2+ invul AND eternal warrior.. ?. Cant be true. How can it be?

Damn you Ward.. this was the same sort of stuff that was funneling in before Grey Knights. .. And it was all true.

But the other stuff looks cool. I just dont want to super Belial walking the field with better armour saves than Horus.

Am I missing something on this whole "lion theme" thing?

Tom: The Dark Angels Primarch was Lion El'jonson. I would not be suprised if we have Lionclaws and Lionfists and Lionblades and Lionhammers in this book.

Robyn: The Belail rumors are coming across wrong to me. He unlocks the Honor guard hq.... but he only grants Heroic Intervention to the Inner Circle unit if he joins them??? If even half the rumors with him are true, he's 200-225 points. If the 2++/EW is true, he's 250-275, and possibly the best CC character in the game.

Really? That sounds about as silly as Land Raiders and Land Speeders being called what they are because the guy who found the STCs for them happened to be a dude named Land.

No model. Most are either a conversion of Lysander or a plastic termie. My Ultra-lail is based on the Lysander model (Plastic termie arms, and some FW gribles).

I was thinking the same thing Beau, a good 250-275.... if he is cheaper than dante, I am going to be very dissapointed.... Especially if any measure of these are true

Draigo vs Belial... Now thats an interesting match up. Or even a Paladin Draigo squad vs Belial Honor Guard squad. By the sounds of it both unit will be over 1000pts. That is if The Honor Guard cap at 5 or 10 dudes. Still interesting, think Belial s squad wound have the upper hand cause of plasma. GK Paladins never make there 5++ save.

Plasma Cannons on a Flyer seems like a waste. I like "Reaper Cannons" assuming they're TL S7 AP4 Heavy 2 and there's two of them.

I was hoping for more than twin-linked plasma on the attack bikes, that seems kinda "meh".

TL plasma kinda-- meh. Wouldnt a MM be about as good? The plasma will hit more, but the MM has a better chance of insta kill/pen/

Why would a flyer need a weapon that can snapshot at flyers??

Yeah, I dont understand the Ravenclaw....
If its supposed to be an "air Superiority Fighter" why not give it the damned Skyfire rule...
And even then, if you give it plasma cannons... they are blast templates.. you cant snapfire those at all.. wtf?????

As for you Beau, rumors I have heard say that the Ravenclaw are not flyers... they are modified speeders...

Probably has a rule saying that it can "boost" for a turn and fly if it so chooses. all flyers have skyfire by being flyers, iirc.

seen this rumor several times in different incarnations, i'm inclined to believe some version of it.

I'm getting really sick of flyers. If you don't have a counter, its impossible to take out. You just sit there and let it shoot at you. Not saying it's an auto win, but it's like facing a LR or 2 when you have no weapons higher than S6 and no melta. So you either need a flyer yourself, or an Aegis line, or something like a Mortis Dread or a Hydra.

Flyers should NOT be a mandatory part of a build, anymore than vehicles in general should be or anything else. I'm really getting sick of 1/2 the codexes not having something they can counter with unless it's an Aegis line or allies. GW=fail.

I played against ian last night at 2500 pts with necrons.

this is to Beau's comment on fliers...

2 deathscythes, just two, is insane. I agree about fliers, I often feel bad for taking them (not against ian and the draigowing, dreadknight grey power army, that was fun)

but against most others... I would feel the same guilt robyn talks about every time his gk thrash my daemons

350 pts for 2 deathscythes...

turn 2- scythes come on, combined kill 6 paladins and a termi librarian.

turn three, just as they are reaching the edge of the board, bam, take out 6 power armor knights, a rhino, and a psyfleman dradnought.

just silly.

Necrons though are the villians of sixth, too many changes benefited them...

I don't mind flyer per se, I mind the half-assed integration of flyer counters (flakk missiles, etc), particularly with multi-flyer armies becoming prevalent.

Armies with NO flyers or anti flyer options (not counting FW):
Eldar
Tau
Space Wolves
Dark Angels
Black Templars
Sisters

Of the remaining codexes, you range from extremely weak anti air (Nids, Chaos FMC only) to Airforce (Guard and Crons).

I like 6th, but this aspect of it feels at best like a half-assed effort and at worst like a blantant move to sell flyers and Aegis lines.
