Avenger Strike Fighter
bear and a couple others were asking me what the rules for this new guy are, and since i finished the imperial navy section in my pdf file, here's the entry:
Re: Avenger Strike Fighter
Why is the heavy stubber listed as skyfire? Dont all flyers have the option of shooting at Iether ground or Air targets at the start of the shooting phase?
or is it because the Craft could shoot at ground targets and then the stubber could conceivably shoot at another flyer instead? (hoping for 6's on that dakka-jet?)
Edit: Beautiful scan btw. I'de definitly be interested in a copy when your done. would even part with a dollar or three for it.

Re: Avenger Strike Fighter
i was wondering about it too. im guessing the avenger is specialized for ground-targets, and the defensive heavy stubber is meant for anti-air protection, since the flyer itself doesn't have any other weapons with skyfire.
and thanks. so far the imperial navy, space marine, and chaos units are done. i gotta start the other races now and get those in there. once its done though, i will let everyone know so if peeps want a copy they can speak up.
edit; i also printed this page off to see how they look on paper. turned out awesome.

Re: Avenger Strike Fighter
The Avenger should be able to target either Flyers or Ground with it's main weaponry. If it targets ground, it can still skyfire the heavy stubber. (Notice no interceptor, so my guess is the stubber is intended ONLY for flyers)

Its an IA unit for use in warhammer 40k (if your opponent isnt a ninny and lets you use it of course)

dom, when it comes to Imperial Armour expansion models, you look at that big stamp on the page; if it says warhammer 40,000, its for normal games. if it says apocalypse, its an apoc only unit.
apoc flyers also dont have hull points, but rather structure points, as theyre all treated as super-heavy flyers and have their own special damage chart like baneblades do.

Re: Avenger Strike Fighter
looking at some of the flyers in this book, my first choice, both for modeling and game play, would be the vulture with twin-linked punisher cannon. its 155pts of badass with those puppies strapped under the wings.
Re: Avenger Strike Fighter
twinlinked punisher gattling cannons dam by the souds of things that flyer should be awsome in a dogfight

No your just showing off
Those are amazing BTW.
let me thinK about this,
25 points for T3 2W autocannon HW team.
OR
40 points for a T7 2W Twin linked autocannon with skyfire and interceptor that comes with free searchlight
but um...Whats the deal with an immobile platform having scout...?

Re: Avenger Strike Fighter
basically. you treat them as immobile after you begin turn 1. before that, you can place them wherever, and then make a scout move. after that they're immobile. they ignore anything that makes them move, but if you force a fallback move, the crew runs and the guns are wrecked.
i didnt have room on the page to put that in, so i might make an appendix of all the special rules everything has.
i just tried making a table of contents page for the pdf with the 30 units i have done. its looking purdy snaaazy

Thats typical forgeworld rules for you....sometimes they just dont make sense
Sorta like their warmamoth before they mode the fantasy book....it was T8 with a 5+ save.....
Also like the apocalypse plague zombies that are T2 and have Feel No (guardsman). This was an actual GW publishing, but looked like something forgeworld would do
