Agreed, much as I'd want the heresy books in hardback, once I saw it say full leatherbound hardback, I knew that's prolly gonna be $150+ for that book. Most of the IA books are $70 afterall.
Maybe if a good enough pdf scan comes out, I'll use my pdf software to make a nice e-copy for the ipad. Assuming the page scans aren't shyte quality.

well it makes me pleased that i dont have to buy the taros campaign book yet since every time i check its out of stock. i reallly dont want to spend 56 pounds on an outdated book just to justify using Tetra Teams. Especially since their updated rules are in the free pdf file on their website.

hehe, me too, all on the ipad. atm, i've been taking the IA books that are purely just unit entries and making a clean readable copy of them for games into pdf. my goal is a single pdf file containing all the current up to date rules for every FW model out there atm.
Re: Heresy news.. damn!
now that im home, i just watched the video. so its going to be its own series of books seperate from the IA series, that works like a stand alone expansion that only needs the 40k core rulebook in addition for you to play the heresy. they'll cover all the legions, and all the forces that were involved in the creation of the imperium (guardmen players, kevin's sisters, imperial navy, titan legions, admech...) will be covered and have full armies, lists, etc inside the books detailing how to play that army, with alot of unique wargear, special rules, and characters, and play styles unique between each of the legions.
once these books start coming out, it they get popular enough in the city, we might have to see if there's interest in running an ongoing heresy league that plays out all the campaign missions these books will have in them. there's definitely enough imperial armies in Hunters for it to happen.

Yeah it looks awesome and hopefully will be super fun, buts its a foreworld product. Its rules will have gaps and I dont think forge world has got its head out of its ass yet that maybe it should sell its rules for cheaper rather than pricing customers out of their products.

If you read any of forgeworld rule books you would see the rules sets that have vague holes in them or things that are straight up undercosted (or too expensive)
The original flyer rules didnt cover all situations completely so you ended up in some situations: "...so what are the rules intending us to do in this situation???"
Sorta like if you remember the first set of necron rules that werent clear weather they auto glanced on hits or armour pen rolls....you know how fun that was.

Re: Heresy news.. damn!
meh, dont knock it until we've actually 'seen' the book and the rules in it. far as anyone knows, it could be more playable and fun than standard 40k games.
Re: Heresy news.. damn!
At current, I'd say the only things majority outta wack is the newer stuff that hasn't hit a book yet, like the Spartan, and loth (sorry mike, an entire discipline?)
Most of the stuff that was an issue, like dread drop pods have had their rules and costs adjusted, and they are pretty balanced. Yes it has a few holes. So does GW codecii. So does cheese. People still eat that.

loth is in a book, he's in IA 9. as for the discipline, he's a master libby, so it makes sense. he's stuck to one category, but gets 6 choices. or, you keep his original powers, and you get.....6 choices. i'd say dont be surprised to see tigurius or another new master libby in the 6th codex have this too. then again, he's also the only libby that unlocks honor guard without having to take a CM. im surprised ppl dont gripe about that too to be honest, as its a bigger deal than 6 psyker cards. besides, pyromancy and telekinesis suck overall, so you know loth will always take biomancy powers if now the original 6 codex powers he comes with.
Re: Heresy news.. damn!
I wouldnt take it personally.. You didnt make the rules for him.
For me.. Yes its odd he gets a full discipline, more then the most powerful psykers in the game. .. But its the armur that is the icker.. Combined with having access to all the biomancy powers.
Again, dont take it personally but his rules are off. Coteaz for 6th is also undercosted and i take him! You justmght have some people mentioning it until they "officially" update him... His 6th is still experimental, although i dont know why forgeworld does odd things like that.
I like pretty much everythng else FW does. The droppod thing aside, everythng ive played or played against from FW is a-ok.

Re: Heresy news.. damn!
Since most of us deal with dragons den. I do remember a bunch of you do order stuff directly from fw. Do you guys invasion a day soon when forge world will be stocked at local stores. I have heard a lot do talk about this lately.
Overall it sounds amazing but freaking expensive. I truly wonder if FW can even keep up to the demand this is going to create. At the very least is see myself buying all the loyal primarchs. At scary worst I will have to sell a lung. Wife don't kill me,lol

Re: Heresy news.. damn!
I can't see them getting to the point they'd be avaliable in local store. *MAYBE* in GW but that's still a lot of product sitting on shelves.
I'd like it if it got to the point they could be ordered directly from local stores like the den (like they can with GW now), this issue is cost for local stores. Darren said dealing with them was a PITA (they seemed to treat it like they would for us. Darren was just paying the part of the me/planes/judchic etc.)

Re: Heresy news.. damn!
and one time they screwed him royally by trying to charge his card twice for a single batch order he had made, from what he told me couple years ago. darren's opinion, unless he's had a change of heart, is he will never deal with that FW bs ever again.
Re: Heresy news.. damn!
I got a double order once as well.. Also got double billed. .. That was awesome.
