guard test mini

did a test mini out of spare parts to get my PDF uniform for my scorpion allies. their colors transfer over really well to fabric uniforms.

thnx tom. i didnt take any side shots so its not so clear, but his index and middle fingers are bare also; going for tactical gunner gloves; they seem to be a trend amongst gunners that prefer the feel of the trigger on bare skin for better accuracy and control. i think they just look awesome. if i see any of those in s'toon, im buying myself a pair lol

thats paint job looks real good he kinda looks like a mordarien guardsman ya wknow the guard regaments who always where ther dress uniforms

Mordian Guard? their uniforms are always bright bright colors, usually mimicking the US Marine Corps dress uniform. and they dont wear helmets or armor plating anywhere. they like those biiiig commisar hats. commisar hats for everyone!!

I always looked at those commisar hats and thought 'if I had one I would lose it constantly'. I mean could imagine fighting any of the crazy xenos races with a hat that big on and not losing it?

i said kinda and thos colors are the same as the sgt uniforms

you better supply a pic then dom, cause this guy's uniform is grey with yellow trim. Mordian use the colors of the USMC, with some sergeant models painted in SS colors; black with silver trim. so i dont see the similarity.

Maybe he saw some mordian guard painted the same way.. The minis have been around for a few decades.

Hehe.. I really dont know why you guys are bickering.. Minis can be painted any colour.. Most of the mordian guard ive seen have actually been blue and yellow.

I don't know why, but I suddenly feel the need to see a Cybermen Guard Legion...

i found that color scem in the IG codex and ive seen USMC dress uniforms white hat black tunic with red trim and the pants are bit fuzzy but i belive ther navy bule witha red strip going down them and if ther not navy blue ther black with the red stripe. the iron guard has 3 deifernt color patterans the grey tunic and black pants, the black uniform with gold trim and the colorful bright blue uniform with red trim.

Speaking as someone who isnt even looking at the colors, yes he looks kinda formal between the "whip-me" stick and his uniform, so I totally got the Mordian reference.

just an update to this test mini, i bought a command squad box so i'll be posting pics of them in this scheme sometime soon. i opted for the commander with a flak armor vest so they wont look nearly as "mordian" as this one does. i'll probably field them as General Odon and his command squad from IA: XI - Doom of Mymeara
