Space Wolves Thunderhawk from start to finish
so i got asked to build and paint a thunderhawk gunship for da bear after it sat untouched for almost 18 months after he bought it. here's the photos of the process. *note; i dont recommend buying one of these if you don't like working on models that need a large amount of fixing before assembly can take place. for a model that's cast to-order, there was zero quality control taken to make this kit fit correctly, or look symmetrical. you'll see int he photos what i mean.*

Re: Space Wolves Thunderhawk from start to finish
if im just weathering a model, i'd have to see the model in person to get a fair idea. but your looking around $15-20 initial guess.
but if im going to be redoing models to make them look like renegade guard legions, im probably going to charge alot more than you're comfort level; because then i start charging flatrate fees for labor, plus double my supplies. and i still have my 'own' stuff to work on, so there's no guarantee on how fast i could get your stuff done.

Dom. don't bother. I have other projects, as well as my 'own' stuff to work on, so I won't be doing anyone else's stuff unless I'm making close to $100+ off the project. And again, even if i just weather and paint chaos symbols, that's still jacking the price up because you're making my use up my own supplies, and taking more time on the labour.
Besides, don't you know 'any' background fluff about guardsmen that turn? you don't go "chaos" like marines; normal humans can't survive in the Eye of Terror. They become Renegades, and they look basically the same as regular guard. the tanks don't get "chaosified". here's some examples of renegade guardsmen. and bear in mind they have funky gas masks because these models were made for the Siege of Vraks campaign:
Basic troop squad:
command squad:
Tank Hatch Crew:
Malcador:
do you see how renegade guardsmen look now? and that's just examples of guard that went 'really' renegade. just painting a chaos star overtop of the imperial eagles on their uniforms, and using a knife to scratch up the eagles on the tanks is about all you need to do. it's not like marines being converted into chaos marines; the armor and vehicles look the same so they can 'hide' the fact they're renegades until you get right up to them and get shot in the back.

Re: Space Wolves Thunderhawk from start to finish
Theres nothing wrong with Chaosify'ing up some imperial vehicles.. Lost and the Damned armies were fantastic examples of this.. a ton of chaos themes guardsmen loaded to bear with their chaos themse tanks.. and there are lots of examples of guardsmen being "influenced" into the service of one of the chaos gods.
That being said, I think were making a bigger conversation out of this then Dom was looking for.

true, i'm basically trying to show he doesn't have to do all this remodeling for his army to be 'renegades', just a little painting and knifing.
Re: Space Wolves Thunderhawk from start to finish
I was gona do some painting and put some spikes on the vehichals give them a more chaos like panit job. And thes guys would be tending to guard one of the strong hold worlds chaos owns.
and i was gona leave the egals on the guardsmen alone.
