~SPACE WOLF COMMISSION~
I've recently started on an army paint commission for Mike V. Its a darker scheme than the common light grey, and the Great company is of Sven Bloodhowl. Mike has done all the modelling and building of the figs himself, bar the thunderwolves conversions (which I will be scratch-building) and I will be painting them.
I started off with two test figs, a grey hunter and a Terminator. Basing, painting and adding snow, these two took me about 6-7 hours to complete.
next up is a Rhino for the Grey hunters. This is about half done. I was painting down at the den, and thought it would be fun to try my hand at painting a free-hand picture from the codex onto the blank space on the Rhino's back. It was a fun experiment.
Lastly, I threw together a test conversion today for a thunderwolves Calvary unit. I couldn't think of an economical way to produce marines riding wolves, so I decided on bikes as a basis. here, I went for a modified bike with a space marine (who must have lost one or both legs in a battle, think half way to dreadnought status) using a massive, two handed chain glaive, to represent the rending rule.
More to come as I burrow through all this plastic.

Re: ~SPACE WOLF COMMISSION~
Using a bike/marine fusion for thunderwolf cavalry is a good idea. The glaive looks awesome too. I would almost try to fill in the area under the plate the marine is mounted on a bit, but that is a minor comment. Looks pretty damn good to me.
Re: ~SPACE WOLF COMMISSION~
hat's off to you for that terminator, you actually made a seriously ugly model look good, props yo! (Space Marine terminators look like ass, it's not a snipe at the wack job that glued it together)

Mike's going to have a painted army?!! I think my head is going to explode! Not since his ultra cheese eldar from 3rd edition (that I painted a large portionof) has he had a painted army.
Tom, by all means snipe away, we all know he deserves it.
Stuff looks good Paz. Clean paint jobs with bold highlighting, it'll look good on the table. I do have to ask, do you shave the glued on skin Mike leaves on his models off? Or just paint right over it like I so lovinly did with his Eldar? That's right Darren, those Eldar you own have little pieces of Mike all over them.

Yeah, I cant comment much more than it's looking great so far.
My favorite part by far is the freehand painting done on the rhino.. great work. I think more so than the actual painting (which is fantastic) is the subject matter. A marine holding up a wolf cloak.. I really like that.

Hi Paz,
Would the chaos wolves from fantasy be large enough if you bashed a few together to make one wolf?
